BIO:
Musical Style Forward Thinking House and Techno

Bio James Lauer has grown to become a major force in the worldwide underground house community and continues to steadily prove himself as someone who is dedicated to pushing house music forward. He strives to keep every set he plays as fresh and diverse as possible and his efforts have consistently earned him bookings at top locations in his hometown of Chicago as well as at larger clubs in locations around the globe. His 2004 -2005 gigs have included dates in London, Sydney, Melbourne, New York, Miami, Phoenix, San Francisco, Milwaukee and Chicago alongside some of the worlds biggest electronic artists including Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, John Digweed, Sandra Collins, James Zabiela, Max Graham, Way Out West, The Crystal Method, Infusion, Chris Fortier, Christian Cambas, Derrick Carter, Desyn Masiello, Mazi, Kazell, Chris Liebing, Luke Solomon, Jesse Saunders and many others. James has also been featured several times at some of the largest DJ/electronic events in the world including the Love Parade, the Miami Winter Music Conference and Two Tribes in Australia.

Raised on a steady diet of Chicago House, James eventually discovered the deeper and darker sides of house music while traveling and working abroad in Australia and Europe. Returning to Chicago in 1999, he started throwing regular underground nights and house parties, eventually earning residency spots at some of the most respected clubs and house nights in the city. In 2002, James began his now widely recognized Diversified Portfolio radio show on WNUR 89.3FM, the same station that he grew up listening to and the former radio home of Derrick Carter, Mark Farina and many of Chicagos other legendary DJs during house musics explosion in the 1980s and 1990s. Currently recognized as the largest non-commercial radio station in the Midwest and one of the largest alternatives to mainstream corporate radio in the United States, WNUR has provided James with an opportunity to express his unique style and showcase a diverse range of house and techno that is normally confined to the club environment. His show continues to air live every Wednesday night in Chicago and features regular guest mixes from the citys top local DJs as well as live mixes from many of the worlds largest International DJ's in the world on their way through Chicago. In addition to WNUR, James has also been a featured artist on a number of large radio outlets around the world including House FM London, XTC Radio London, Samurai FM in Japan and on XM Satellite Radio in the United States. His mixes are broadcast every day on several of the largest and most respected Internet radio stations including Proton Radio where he hosts his popular show called Chicago Underground Sessions.

Outside of his radio and local efforts in Chicago, James maintains a busy DJ schedule which has taken him around the United States and as far away as Australia. His style but can best be described as a unique combination of deep, dark and uplifting house delivered with the clear goal of moving crowds both inside and out. Every set he plays he strives to create a musical environment in which even the most critical listeners will find something that catches their ear.

On the production front, James is currently working on a number of independent projects involving new software production techniques in addition to remixing and creating a number of his own tracks, several of which have been released as white labels and have been circulated among the EDM community. As with his DJing, James believes that his production style is somewhat unique and hopes that at the end of the night you will have found some slightly less obvious grooves in his music.
