Woman arrested for posing as Hurricane Victim
Source
MARIETTA, Ga. - Police in Georgia arrested a woman who posed as a hurricane evacuee and took money from the American Red Cross.
Thirty-six-year-old Beretta Jo Hogg, seen above, was arrested Saturday, and charged with theft by deception. She remains in jail in Cobb County, Ga.
Police say Hogg went to a relief shelter in Marietta, Ga. with her 8-year-old son. She told rescue workers she lost everything in Hurricane Katrina.
Officials say Hogg waited in line, filled out paperwork and was given $1,300 in aid. Then a woman who felt sorry for her took Hogg and her son into her own home.
The son told the woman who took the two into her home he attended school in another Georgia town. The woman called authorities and Hogg was arrested and taken to jail.
Suppose it was only a matter or time.

i would of never done it of course. but 2000 dollars would of been fun

Jason, normally being white, educated, affluent and from the north would be an advantage but i'm afraid in this case it would work against you.
The temptation of free money and human nature, it's not that shocking. Bad but to be expected. Hope ppl like this don't discourage ppl from giving. Red Cross should really do more checking b4 turning over cash.
