one word: GO!

Posted by Pett on Sep-15-2005 06:47:

flying jump kicks, air guitars, and choons
go.

Posted by Zenchowdah on Sep-15-2005 08:13:

yeah, go.

Posted by MeLLyMeL on Sep-15-2005 08:28:

he's a rockstar!

he chainsmokes his entire set. the last song he got on the table and with his umm.. computer thing [the pa thing i guess??] he was totally warping the sound while banging it on the table. i was waiting for the table to break

he sings along to everything... I never seen Crobar with so much energy. Don't miss him

SHOWMAN!!!
what a party!!

go to get fucked up and have a great time!!! maybe the music isnt as "deep" some of the other guys, but he does the job of "insane party dj" better than anyone ive seen.

best when seen with 4000+ other individuals.

batteries not included.

dude fucking GO! JXL is my all time favorite live act; nobody else comes close to his antics, talent, and general style. Very cool guy too, down to earth and won't scoff at a fanboy asking for a photo. When I asked to get one with him, he seemed genuinely pleased to meet another fan and gave me his undivided attention for two minutes or so...then he went on and blew the roof off the club.

GO!

Go see JXL and don't give it a second thought...!

I saw him last year in Detroit on Halloween and he put on an absolute monster set...huge energy, great track selection...it was probably the best dance show I've ever experienced and I've seen a lot of the big names at this point (Sander, Sasha, Armin, Paul, etc.).

i got to check out some of his set at the bumbershoot festival here in seattle a few weeks ago. while he played a quality set with lots of atmospheric breakdowns and progressive beats, i wasn't exactly blown away. it might have had something to do with the poor quality sound system or the fact that the first hour of his set was like 133 bpm, which is way too slow for me.
he did play a remix of Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence that i really liked tho..

i just love the way he sings.. and the lyrics are so beautiful.... def a top track of mine.

junkies touch makes it perfect. i'd love to catch him again in hopes of hearing this song live!

To watch JXL live is to watch a man who truly loves every minute of what he is doing and puts every ounce of himself into live performance...

Just watching him on stage is worth the price of admission alone...

His sets at DEMF and Vision in the last few months have been some of the best shows I've ever seen...

And while we're at it, my favorite JXL tunes to hear live are "World on Fire" with Sarah McLachlan and his tune with Sasha, "Breezer."

Posted by queen_vee on Sep-16-2005 05:10:

Yeah, farkin what all ^^^ they said!

Serious showman, one of the best sets I've seen when he came to Australia a couple of years back.

GO!

I'd see him again in a flash

He was here in May at Crobar. We went to see him, left, then immediately drove to my brother's graduation at Penn State. It was so worth being exhausted all day. Seen him three times. He's always good, though his sets don't have a lot of diversity.

To the kid who started the thread, you should definitely go to see him. I'm guessing it's at Glow. I think I saw he'd be playing there for Halloween this year. My g/f and I are hoping he makes his way up to NYC as well.
