Warped records

I have a few warped records bent out of shape. i searched for past topics about it and came up with:

In relation to putting the vinyl in the oven, can you use a microwave instead?

Cool

I wouldnt suggest you do either, I suggest you fill up a record box at max limit and stick it in the middle, within a week it'll be pretty flat.

Better yet, put it underneath the same record box sandwiched between two large books or something, and leave it for at least a week, preferably 2. Should be pretty flat after that!

err....i tried doing that a long time ago (flattening my vinyl). stuck a good record in the oven and it warped it a bit more slightly. stickin it between piles of literature wont do any good either...i had an old techno record i left wedged under my bed between two huge, quite heavy books for a month, yet the damn thing is still warped.

if you have warped vinyl, my recommendation is to:
a) buy another copy of it b4 it goes out of press
b) use it as a coaster for those bigger than normal brews
c) set em on fire and shoot them @ cars passing by

The problem with my record is that most of it is decent, but in one part there was a bump. Literally a bump that was 2 or 3 mm off the slipmat. Today i just checked it, and its still warped but not as bad. I left it between other records in my record box set up right.

Cool

I got the Exhale Remixes Tsunami Promo 3 weeks ago, that was fairly warped when I got it, like a 1" rise in the middle so when the needle got near the end of the vinyl gravity got the better of it. I just stuck it into an old full record box of my Dad's and now its flat as a pancake

I know this is going to sound crazy ....................................................
a long time ago a "friend" put two of my records too close to a radiator and when i found them, they both looked like over-sized crinkle cut crips (potato chips to the yanks out there).
So after some licks being dealt out I, (in a state of intoxication) tried to steam Iron the record flat. yes, steam iron. I put the choon on a flat surface with a cloth over it and iron it flat. I got them both playable again but tried to get one them better and it cracked.
i suggest only trying this method for a laugh or in extreme emergency.
