Utah Saints - Theme to mortal kombat
Was this ever released on Vinyl? I've been trying to track down this tune for awhile
It's a common misconception that the Mortal Kombat theme was produced by Utah Saints. It was produced by The Immortals.
Clicking on that link will show that it was released on 12" a couple times, as well as on CD.
The Immortals are Maurice Engelen and Oliver Adams, also known as Lords of Acid.
They have dozens of aliases, but Maurice is most famously known as Praga Khan, and Oliver is Digital Orgasm, Channel X, 101 and many others. They were the kings of the Belgian New Beat/Rave scene in the early 90s.
Yes, yes, The Immortals did make the original Mortal Kombat track (or Techno Syndrome, as it's properly known as).
However, for the soundtrack to the movie, the Utah Saints were tapped to do a cover version of it called Utah Saints Take On The Theme From Mortal Kombat, which had the original hook in a slightly less chunky form, with some added hooks in the bridges and dialogue from the movie itself.
"I am the chosen one."
"Alright."
"I am the chosen one."
"Alright."
"I am the chosen one."
"Alright."
"I am the chosen one."
"Alright, let's dance."
Don't know if that was ever released on an official vinyl, though.
yea that Utah Saints version has that sweet piano style riff. good track
