Tiesto Or Armin ?

recently ive been reading alot of articles on how tiesto is falling and that armin is gonna take over, so what are your thoughts who is better yes tiesto has put out some great stuff but i personally think armin is a way better producer and dj

so i vote armin

hmm, original topic

i've grown to despise armin as both a producer and DJ. tiesto i can still enjoy at times but he's a far cry from what he used to be

Armin as a producer (one who masters tracks) He pwns most edm musicians, falling short of only Junkie XL and Sasha. Armin as a composer however, is a HORRIBLE thing. His mixing also puts me to sleep, unless he "isn't a prisoner of his own style" and copies other djs like Marco V and Tisto, which obviously, he can't do.

Tisto can write a track and mix. His technical mixing ability might fall short of what a lot of people expect, but his track selection is one of the best around.

heh. as if sasha does the mastering on his stuff...

i'd disagree with that too, thought most of shivers was very poorly produced.

Good grief.

Over the past two years I've found Armin to become really boring, he still plays some good tracks but he's moved away from his uplifting trance style of 2003. I loved that style because it suited everything I was doing at the time.

As for Tiesto, yeah he can't beatmatch, we all know that. But I just prefer his style of music more.

Armin, but only by default because Tiesto is so bad.

I used to be a big Tiesto fan, until about 2003, and I started to get into Armin more. I liked Armin for a little over a year, and then started to get back into Tiesto more after seeing him live in a club (and was more impressed with his set) than with Armin's (the first time was great but didn't know a lot of the tunes, the second time I was more into talking with people around me than recognizing the tunes). I just feel like Tiesto puts on a great show. Sure his Tiesto In Concert had some cheesy stuff to it, but Tiesto hands down...plays some great tracks. I don't think his productions are nearly as good as they were in the past, but the songs he plays and the show he puts on are pretty incredible. Armin doesn't have that kind of impact in my opinion, and i was disapointed with his latest album and kind of disapointed with ASOT 2005. He should really stick to releasing single disc mix CDs and the Ableton thing....i'm not really catching onto it yet. It would be nice to mess around with, but ASOT 2005, esp the second CD, it was kind of mish-mashy, with not a real flow to it. It would be nice if he would release another mix CD like "Universal Religion" or "Boundaries of Imagination".

yawn ........ go to polls and get people to vote...rather than putting stories...on y tiesto is so good...likewise for armin

Posted by Absolut_Vodka on Sep-19-2005 05:23:

tiesto vs. armin ey... i hope they both disappear... they've both killed music in one way or another

Posted by spc on Sep-19-2005 05:49:

this would have been a nice topic...if the year was 2000 or 2001

but nowadays i honestly am not sure.... but i am really drunk right now... and if i had the choice to pick between them when im really shitfaced...i would probably go with tiesto... tiesto used to REALLY get me move back in the day (check out his innercity 2000 set, that shit was NUTS) my reasoning would have to come on here some other day.. but i have been disappointed with tiesto lately
