lava lamp question

im thinking of getting one, but am uncertain of which colours to go for, i was looking at this one:

but im not sure if this would provide a desirable ambiance, might be too bright


so for anyone with a lava lamp, or perhaps a collection of them, which colours do you find work well for a nice chilled out lighting setup?

Don't leave the laval lamp in direct sunlight or else you will loose all the colour in it.

a LAVA LAMP? don't forget to get a big poster of jimmy hendrix too.

What's the colour of the room where you're going to have this?

Do you have any other accesories ( table lamps etc ) and what are their colours?

I like blue and red personally. I have the full drug den set up though so the color of the lamp doesnt really affect much.

best colors are purple/pink or green.

If the bulb goes out, please replace it. Don't put it on a stove.

and you're right anywayz.

find the colors that match in your room, and figure out the lighting in accordance to that.

mine was silver with black lava...never saw anyone else with a black lava lamp...do that

the room has yellow walls, which was why i thought that one might have gone with it, but i also thought it might have been too bright
though that lamp in the pic seems to be messed up a bit

aha ..i remembered that thread the moment i saw the word lava lamp

My lava lamp is silver with blue lava, and it looks tight as hell. sits right next to me...get one of the thinner ones than the one you showed in your pic.

lavalamps are cool, no mocking.

and, sure, if anyone can post a pic of something cooler than a lava lamp, i'd be interested in seeing it
not something that costs a shitload though, these lamps aren't too expensive

lava lamps are fuckin sweet.. yeah they are 70s 80s or whatever.. who cares... get one.. they are cheap and look cool..

but do not let it be one of those lamps that sits and never gets turned on... or let the bulb die and never replace it...

i hated going ot someplace and seeing somebody have one and it be off..

i had blue with yellow goo.. it was rad...
