Which Dual CD Decks?
Hello,
I would like to have your guys' opinions on which dual cd decks I should get? If it's possible, something in the lower price range.

the only dual deck I would recommend would be Pioneer's CMX 3000, but its not exactly cheap.
denon is the best way to go when looking at dual decks
they work supurbly and they can take a beating

I love CMX3000. They are a pleasure to play on.

Had mine for a couple of years now and i love em.
From extensive experience of duals, the main ones i would recommend are:
denon 1800 mk2 - quite basic but will last forever
denon 2100 (has looping)
denon 2600 (very very good indeed- has looping and a sampler)
Denon 4000,6000 and 9000 are not the most reliable and have lots of software bugs in. 9000 is full of features, but buyer beware- not had good experiences!
Pioneer cmx 3000 is great- and has the bonus of trayless loading (unlike all the denons)
Get the pioneer, the denon 2600 or 2100...best value for money.
Plenty of others about, but most are utter shite.

if you're gonna spent that much money to get the "best" dual decks, whether they're pio 3000 or whatever denon top of the line are...then why not go and get yourself two table tops...either the 800 or 200, or the 3000 from denon...i'm sure they'll cost around the same price and you'll be happier.
well.....cxm costs about the same as a cdj 800.
The denon 1800 and 2100 cost less then a single cdj 200- in fact at currecnt prices you could pick up 2 1800s for less than a cdj 200.
The 2600 less than an 800 and the 9000 costs about the same as 1 single cdj 1000...........
Simple maths. Plus- not everyon likes tabletops, and not everyone has the space available for them.
in my opinion....spend the extra cash and don't do dual...

there's absolutely nothing wrong with dual decks. Before table tops were invented all clubs had dual decks installed. If you're being economical about it, def go the dual deck way. The cmx 3000 is basically the same exact thing as two 800's in terms of functions except for the platter, and to tell you thr truth, the cmx has a one-up on both the cdj800 and 1000...it has pitch bend buttons as opposed to only the jog wheel.
Is it better in general, both price and performance to buy CMX 3000 over 2x CDJ 200s? I mean the 3000 costs the same as a CDJ800 but can't do scratching or anything like that. So the CMX 3000 is a lot like two 200s.
Im looking into getting 2x CDJ 200s (~$600) but are the CMX 3000 (~$800) worth it?

the CMX does have a decent scratch mode but its not quite as touch sensitive as the cdjs...
to each with their own...i would spent the xtra cash (if available) and get two cd players.
i looked at swapping the cmx for a pair of 800's. Basically going for 800's would mean losing wave display, hot cues, pitch bend buttons and some pitch ranges. I would gain a better scratch function (which I wouldn't use anyway) and a longer fader, though at the same resolution. I concluded that for anyone not scratching, 800 just isn't as good as a cmx. maybe you like the size and looks of an 800, but it could onloy come down to preference.
added to the features, I like having a dual deck so everyhting is within easy reach, not having cd's on the outside of tt's.
