Soundcard????

Hi guys, just working on my home studio right now.
Just need to know one thing, WHICH SOUND CARD I HAVE TO USE? I have heard a lot of testimonies but I am just totally confused.

What should I see at the cards, what are their requirements, such things. Can somebody help?
