Homo-erotrance
Hi guyz, I'm new to this tranceaddict forum and I just started listening to trance music about a few months ago... I live in the States in a midwest city, so trance isn't really the preferred type of music.....alota people here tend to relate trance or as they like to call it "techno" music with gays and lesbians. I was just wondering if there is any truth to that statement and if trance music has a strong gay following?
You see that pink banner in the top left of the screen? Pretty much sums it all up.
Yes, trance does have a huge gay following. You see all them guys in the clubs with huge glowsticks? Do you know what they do with them glowsticks in the comfort of their own home????

I loved telling the black kids in my class that House was invented by a gigantic stocky gay black geeza.
I also loved telling them that Eminem isn't Detroits best musical export.

just when you thought things couldn't get more gay than trance huh?
here's some quality gay stuff
the remix of owner of a lonely heart
tracks with "diva" vocals, you know what i mean
 most "regular" house with vocals
most stuff kanye west has produced
loads of stuff from the 80's (what were they thinking?)
A lot of people who aren't involved in the EDM community like to call everything within the giant EDM spectrum "techno" - don't really know why. In my experience, the gay crowds tend to like mostly circuit stuff: Thunderpuss, Valentin, stuff on Tommy Boy and Star 69, etc... along with a lot of the poppier euro dance exports: anything by Almighty, ATB, Cascada, DJ Sammy, and the like. Basically, anything for sale on PerfectBeat
I heard Dave Dresden makes trance.
It's ironic you should ask that, because if I had to name one EDM scene that's homophobic, it would be... Drum n Bass.
But if I had to name a second EDM scene that's homophobic, I would say trance.
At least insofar as the blockheaded teen male demographic goes, something an internet forum seems to attract in droves.

Theres plenty of Ohio TAs who aren't gay and like edm. Anyone who still believes that generalization is probably in high school and/or trying to distract away from their own homosexuality.
trance is anti gay
Just a clarification.. Trance is wayyyyy different that Euro-Dance/Trance .. which indeed happens to be uberly gay.
who the fuck cares?
hip-hop is mostly produced by black people (excuse my PC term), does it make you black if you listen to it? NO
Trance is a genre of DANCE music. The term descirbes it all. No matter if it is trance made by tisto or some circuit made by thunderpuss. sure the elements are different but its stupid to say that its GAY music. If people think you are gay or think you'll become gay because you listen to it I think they need to check themselves out..

The gay clubs around here are filled with mostly straight people when the annual trance DJ comes around, altough I did see 2 dudes making out with eachother hardcore in the bathroom when Paul van Dyk was there. The nicest clubs around here are gay clubs but they have the occasional straight night when a well known EDM DJ visits. I saw Andy C one time in this really ornate gay club, it was quite the experience having that grimey DnB in such a well decorated and pretty room.
Normal clubs dont get enough support to stay alfoat around here it seems, so the occasional night in the gay places when the crowd is different is really the best I can hope for without traveling long distances. I would say that there are gay kids in any given crowd at a trance night but it is very far from being dominated by them.
I was dominated by a gay kid once....
