-- "Xpander 1" Catalog Number?
"Xpander 1" Catalog Number?
I recently bought a 2x12" of the Xpander EP, and found something curious while checking my catalog numbers.
The outer and inner sleeves of my copy are for the Deconstruction release, and appear brand new. (http://www.discogs.com/release/58337) As expected, disk two (Rabbitweed and Baja) is etched with the appropriate Deconstruction number.
But my first disk (Xpander and Belfunk) is instead pressed with an "XPANDER 1" catalog number, which Discogs tells me is a promo version limited to 250 copies: http://www.discogs.com/release/83390. Complicating things further, the label on disk one belongs to the standard Deconstruction release; why would it be stamped "XPANDER 1"? I'm almost certain the disk has never been played, or perhaps even removed, as it cligns to the sleeve by static like new records usually do.
I find it very difficult to believe that a promo copy got labeled for the full release in this way. Can anyone shed light on how this might have happened?
woah hectic... could just be a conincidental retarded mistake
is it the song(s) you payed for?
if so i wouldn't worry about it, you payed, you got the song you wanted... where's the problem?

sounds like it could be a mistake at the pressing plant?
i don't have the 2-disk release so can't confirm anything... but own 'XPANDER 1' and didn't know it was a 250-only release until now. could be worth something perhaps?
