Unhappy omg wtf girl thread

i dont want to make a girl thread but my friends are flaming metrosexuals and wouldnt be able to help me anyways... "just tell her you love her!" "uh... no."

so anyways my girlfriend is always super flirty and super friendly when we talk on instant messenger and always goes out of her way to im me...

however when i run into her in public shes quiet and doesnt laugh at anything (im not trying to be funny but i noticed this) that i say. also if i leave her a cute gift like a handwritten note in her post box, next time she sees me she'll be like whats this about and give it back to me...

now i know for a fact that im her first boyfriend (which doesnt make sense cuz shes hot ) so can anyone explain these mannerisms to me?

btw when i see her in public, unlike her, im the same person that i am sitting on my ass in my house .

and btw im totally not emo

shes probably just not comfortable yet with PDA. don't worry about it. the closer you get to her the more she'll warm to you and be more comfortable around you in person

ok. ok.

im doing my part fine. im not too nice not a dick... ya know.
ive been through this dating thing before.

her shyness presents a problem.
solution = ?

kthxbye

Posted by Floorfiller on Sep-22-2005 22:47:

ok well in a serious response...like the guys are saying, especially if you're her first boyfriend, she probably just isn't comfortale with the PDA stuff. i don't really think there is anything you can do to change that...she's just young and inexperienced and dating you is a learning thing for both of you. she doesn't know how to act around other people.

lol... it's never that easy m8... just talk to her about it... if somethings bothering you, go to her... if you can't be open and honest with her about what's bothering you, or she can't deal with that, she's not worth your time...

good luck.

Posted by wizniz on Sep-22-2005 22:54:

rjt: i know im just frustrated... =/ but thx for the response.

ff: its not pda its just talking and socializing... its like pulling teeth having a convo in a non-over-the-internet situation... which is rediculous.

and no im not sending teh lettar

No worries dude, relationships just aren't necessarily easy things by their nature... just have faith in yourself and your girl, and things will hopefully work their way out for you man...

Like I said man, it's all about communication... and it's a lesson you should learn now, because it can be a hard one to learn if you fuck up...

Once again, good luck man... I'm sure you'll be fine

Posted by Floorfiller on Sep-22-2005 23:01:

well...people hide behind the internet. some people are just shy...you aren't going to be able to change that. whether its insecurity or what...it's a personal choice people have to make.

really i think all you can do is just try to make her feel as comfortable as possible by continuing to get to know her and being openly friends and show her that you're a great guy...and hopefully it'll come with some time...

Posted by Dumbum on Sep-22-2005 23:02:

1st, dont post a pic.

2nd, shes probably uncomfortable. You obviously havent had sex with her. If you are willing to wait for that, she will be a completely different person afterwards, more interesting and more fun. Personally I wouldnt go through all this shit again but if you are going to, make her feel comfortable. Do stupid stuff together, try to open her up, invite her to another world, your world.
Hope I helped

ps. persistence is the key.

strange wizzy. become a metrosexual and youll find out the truth. uh, dont tell her you love her. thatll freak her out or make her really attached. and love is too strong a word.

Posted by DjConfessions on Sep-22-2005 23:04:

find two more girlfriends to make up for that one

Posted by Krypton on Sep-22-2005 23:05:

pic please.

Posted by kr00t0n on Sep-22-2005 23:06:

It's easy to be confident over the internet, we can think things through before saying them, and edit them in the nick of time should something change.

She just doesn't have that confidence IRL with you yet.

Solution?

Ive noticed a lot more people chat on IM and then you meet them and they are boring. Mainly 2 things.

Much more clever repartee can happen on IM than your normal conversations that are distracted, ambiguous and your goal is more time spending oriented than conversation.

The biggest things YOU can do are go out to a park and sit down and make TALKING your goal.

two things you need to do are ask questions questions questions. Women think they are boring and not worth talking about so you need to prod em a bit usually. Also, maybe you talk about something interesting, wax a tad philosophical and then get her thoughts on it. And no letting her cop out on it. Thoughtful remarks and comments on what she has said and then go back.

Listen, comment, ask, listen.

and touch her. Maybe she is feeling the relationship is ambiguous and she doesn't know what to do with you hanging out with her like you do your guy buddies.

I dunno, its all conjecture.
