wot no demo? how can anyone crack it if they haven't released a demo?!

Haha, anyone else get a kick out of this?

"Some of the most thrilling new features are the expansion from 2 to 4 playback decks and an emulation of the new, much sought-after Allen & Heath Xone:92 4-channel club mixer."

Look at the screenshots. HOW does that emulate the Xone 92, other than the words "Xone 92" being on the screen...

They have an arrangement with Allen & Heath to make the Traktor software mixer sound and work like the real 92. First beta testers are reporting excellent audio quality from this software mixer emulation.

Traktor v3 also can be set to emulate an Ecler Nuo4 mixer and possibly a Pioneer DJM600.

DJs can of course alternately use a "real" external mixer, as with previous Traktor versions.

Even the software mixer in the current version of Traktor is pretty decent, you can use kill switches totally knock out each of the EQ bands, according to what I've read not many "real" mixers can do that. But the Xone:92 emulation sounds better.

Emulating the features of a mixer in SW is fine, but to say it actually emulates the hardware is ridiculous. Unless is comes with an actual Xone:92 it's not the same

it seems a lil cluttered to me but still

They didn't say "it actually emulates the hardware" - you did.

They said it emulates the Xone:92. They've done this jointly with Allen & Heath and with their approval of the results. There is an announcement on the A&H site http://www.xone.co.uk/news-stories.asp

It's likely the real A&H mixer is partly based on software running in DSP chips - high-end hardware mixers aren't just little amplifiers and analog circuits anymore.

Emulates the Xone:92, Xone:92 is hardware, you make the correlation

I'm sure that Allen & Heath agreed to do it because it's free marketing for them.

I just think it's funny! But hey if it works, then great.

As for the REAL A&H mixer, there are no DSP chips in that baby. It's all high-end analog circuitry, which is one reason why it's so expensive.

Check out this link: Xone 92 Block Diagram

High end analog mixers sounds fantastic, while cheap analog mixers sound terrible. Mid-priced digital mixers sit in between.

There is no way that the Traktor filters sound as good as the VCF filters on an actual Xone, although they probably work the same.

Ive been using traktor since version 1. Im so glad they have FINALLY decided to implement another 2 sources. My dream come true!! Virtual 4 deck mixing

Posted by jupiterone on Sep-24-2005 17:46:

looks very nice even though i dont do virtual

Posted by Omega_Blue on Sep-24-2005 18:35:

i like this a lot.

Posted by Protege on Sep-24-2005 19:26:

This looks awesome. One of the drawbacks of mixing on pc was that it had only 2 channels. Looks like that is no longer a problem.

Posted by BOOsTER on Sep-24-2005 23:32:

I would much apreciate support for VST or DX effects...

much like in mixmeister for example...I "sort of" can live with a selection of effects they did, but wouldn't it be great to spice up a mix with your wide library of VSTs/DXs?

Posted by spdandpwr on Sep-25-2005 19:44:

is it me or is traktor one better...with each version of traktor it gets more difficult to actually get in and start using the software

Posted by BOOsTER on Sep-25-2005 19:46:

you're right...

in traktor 1 the records never slipped once you matched them :-/

Posted by djsphere on Sep-25-2005 19:59:

I'm using traktor 1.0 since 2003 and it gets the job done damn well, though I'd like to get my hands on this new version.

ive been starting to use version 2.6 with final scracth and im really digging it.. now i need to get a midi controller and i can ditch having a mixer completely.

Vinyl + Fs2 + Traktor 3 = z0mg.

Posted by simzz on Oct-24-2005 13:07:

last time i used the version was 2.6 it was the latest of the time. but i think Every1 need more than just 2 Players so will try the demo of T3 and see if there is something new (other than 4 decks) which will help me now or in near future, than ill purchase it.
