lungs = only organ that cant repair themselves

..or so i was told..

just curious - can the brain repair itself in anyways?

lungs can repair itself.. brain and spinal chord can't.. once you damage your brain or spinal chord, its perminant.

lungs can repair themselves, but it takes a looong time

Which is why when you suffer a spinal injury and become paralyzed, its 99.9% of the time for life. The same with brain cells, cut off oxygen to them, they die, and they dont regenerate properly.

Anyone can become 'unstupid', its just a matter of whether you are motivated enough to educate yourself.

Aren't they doing some tests with lizzards and humans? so after a while humans could regenerate?

A person's lungs could repair themselves, now as far as your brain goes, no. Sure you could regenerate certain neurons and cells but if a part of your brain shuts down, there is no possibility of recuperating it. Your brain is the organ that makes everything else work...your brain has no feeling or a switch to fix itself.

Lungs just take a long time but it's possible...perhaps not perfectly but close enough.

Indeed they have. But the tests went horribly wrong. These lizard-human hybrids, complete with full regenerative abilities, broke free of their glass confinement areas and took control of the facility. Thankfully, the average human only usees 3% of their brains, so the chances of you messing up an important bit are quite slim

negative! the other 97% is actually what makes humans have the ability to have logic and reason

I believe that there's a huge chance that stem cell research could regenerate spinal cord and brain cells. It worked in mice.

Although today I heard of developements where they have cured rats with paralized limbs,they use tissue taken from the nose,the area from the nose to the brain is the only nerve line that continually repairs itself,and they took some tissue and planted it in the spine of some rats and they healed.

no it cannot. what it can do, such as, you do drugs everyday, and then u stop doing them; the brain cells you have left compensate for the deficiency by forming more connections than usual, but as always, you can never get 100% compensation past certain points.

maybe for thinking, but not for body function. u lose one part of your brain, you lose some function, no matter what it is..

Lungs can 'repair' themselves till you reach the age of 30 (this depends on the individual). I smoke 10 to 15 cigarettes/day for the past 7 years, and so far I've never had any trouble breathing or so smoking is so addictive

I'm pretty sure the Liver can so called 'repair' itself after a while of 'drug' free activity.

by 'drugs' I'm assuming you also mean caffeine, sugar, and the like as well?

A liver, by itself, within the person cannot heal itself if it has been damaged, thats why they have liver transplants. Although your damaged liver cant repair itself, a piece of a healthy liver can aid in healing.

I thought 1 escaped the marines after killing a dozen of them. they are still looking for the foul creature of the swamp.

I think he ran to that evil dr.laden

The spinal cord tries to regenerate itself for a day or two following an injury to it. It then stops for some reason. They dont know why yet, or how to make it start growing again.
