Stupid Tiesto Question

In the song 'A Tear In The Open'

Is the word 'Tear' prounonced in the way that would mean to cry, or meaning to rip.

For example, 'He had a Tear in his eye' or,
'There was a Tear in his clothes'

Anyone?

Now you see, thats what I thought. And in a wierd poetic way I think it makes sense or something.

But my mate Phil who's a big Tiesto fan says it's "to cry".

But I think he's wrong!!

Well that makes 2 a piece. I'm sure it's 'to rip'.

i originally did read it as tear clothes but subsequently realised its the tear as in cry ... though i still always refer to it in the later form, love songs any me

It's tear as in crying, Tiesto wouldn't come up with a track title that's almost poetry. (like it would be if tear meant rip)

The vocals are ripped from a sample CD though.

This is a question for Tijs himself. Dang english language

I'm going with rip. Sounds a lot cooler that way.

Take it to the polls I say!

A Tear In The Open - Makes more sense as in tear of a clothes because it has open in it, and the tear is opening..get it?

Posted by lacksesepsotygh on Sep-24-2005 16:35:

or maybe someone that's openly crying..? wheter it be outside, or in the presense of other people.

After earlier suggestion, and seeing as we don't have a definative answer, here is the Poll:

Goooo 'To Rip'!

Posted by Floorfiller on Sep-24-2005 17:59:

i always thought it was as in crying as well. the song title doesn't really make any sense to mean rip...but a tear in the open as in crying has a little more meaning...

Arrow

I can tell you that it's tear as in a tear from your eye. Last year Tiesto played in Toronto and somebody interviewed him after the set and asked him that question.

Search for "DJ_Kandaio_-_DJ_Tiesto_Interview-(June_11th_2004).mp3" for proof, or ask in the TOTA fourm.

winner, heeh....

well, I imagine a tear falling in my front, slowly...
a tear... in ...da... open...
somebody crying...
good track.

I always assumed it was a tear as in the liquid discharge emitted from ones eye when they are upset.

Wow, I thought it was to rip...good question!
