Mash Up's.

How would people like to take part in a little mini-competition type thing?

Basically, Each DJ (upto 16) Create a 2 track mash up. Like a bootleg.

Mixed however the hell you like.

THEN, and you'll like this - the participating DJ's are DRAWN in a lucky dip against each other. Complete out of the hat type thing.

Then 2 other DJ's will judge them and choose a winner from the 2 tracks.

Once it's done we go to 8 DJ's, then 4, then the final then a winner!!!

Liking it????

COMPETING DJ's.

1. RX - aka MR2GTi
2. Psylo
3. Belgian Bonzai
4. XDR
5. DJ Hollen
6. Omega Blue
7. Pepa
8. Sea Contact
9. DJ Sphere
10.Oh My God
11.Max Thomson
12.
13.
14.
15.
16.

yeh, I am interested - I hope other people are too to make this happen.

I have actually already done a few dance mash ups as well as other styles such as rap/R&B. Check out my website at www.psylomusic.tk for more info. and some free samples.

I presume they must be trance/house mash ups, yes? And are the DJs participating also judges?

Thanks

Basically one track has to be trance. Other can be alsorts or anything

Very open and ranged.

Just a thought here -

How about the final of the competition is put out to an open vote, to make things more representative of public opinion?

Top idea Boss.

Posted by mr2gti on Sep-25-2005 13:57:

Yeah...

Few more finer points to the scoring - judging.

16 opponents... Therefore 8 x 2 opponent matches.

If DJ 3 and 6 get picked out, 2 and 7 will judge them (1 down and 1 up.

Then it goes down to 8 (4 x 2opponent matches)

Judging then goes to those ALREADY knocked out.

Then the SEMI's, 4 opponents. 12 judges split into 2 groups.

Then the final, ALL opponents judging except the finalists.

Final consists of 4 tracks, 2 mixed tracks into 2 mixed tracks.

Yet again, this is just a laugh, and won't take long to complete.

+1. A random drawing doesn't seem fair in these circumstances.

lol, well we'll have to see if it really doesn't take long
Let's hope things go a lot faster than with your recent mix competition

How much time will the DJ's have to make their mashup? And can they use any mashups that they made before this competition?

Posted by Sea_contact on Sep-25-2005 18:18:

I'm in as well. I hope I am not too late... So what is the procedure, where should we post our bootlegs ?

Posted by djsphere on Sep-25-2005 18:58:

I'll give it a try. Never did a bootleg till now, but everyone gotta start somewhere, right?

Posted by mr2gti on Sep-25-2005 19:29:

Good man, knew you'd have a pop

Posted by OhMyGod on Sep-26-2005 15:41:

I wasn't so sure about this, but I remebered I did some bootlegs this year (and very few people heard them)... and I also have some new ideas...
So I'll give it a try.

Posted by Omega_Blue on Sep-27-2005 05:13:

so what's going on now? who do we submit these to?

Posted by mr2gti on Sep-27-2005 19:13:

Just waiting for a few more players.....

Then i'll PM every1 the way to upload it.

I would still like to know how much time we get to make the mashup, and if we can use any previously made mashups?

Posted by mr2gti on Sep-27-2005 21:24:

Time wise, no more than a week a round, You can do 1 in an evening in my book.

FRESH one's only I reckon, one's specificly for this game.

Posted by djsphere on Sep-28-2005 06:41:

So, we have do to one or several mashups?

Posted by Belgian Bonzai on Sep-28-2005 07:36:

^pretty sure it's only one

I think more than one. He says no more than a week a round, which indicates we have to do one mashup for each round.

But I would like to hear it from MR2GTi. You need to be a little more clear about this mate, sorry
I also don't quite understand this:

The DJ's then need to make two mashups each or what? The word "into" confuses me here, I think you mean against, but i'm not sure
