MLB: Who's the AL East champs of 2005, the Boston Red Sox or New York Yankees
So almost definately the tightest race in a long time between Boston and New York will be settled with a 3 game series in Boston this weekend with a one-game playoff in New York Monday if needed. So easy question, who is going to take it? Being a Red Sox fan, I gotta say Boston and I believe that they can do it too. I don't like having to play Toronto this week because it seems like they have Boston's number and then Yankees are only playing the Orioles, but I still have confidence here in Red Sox nation.
GO BOSOX!!!
Terry
I don't know who will win it in 2006 (thread title???), but I fancy the Yankees to do it this year though I would love to see them fail to make the playoffs. Also want a chance of revenge over the Bosox after last years whooping in the WS.
2005 .. looks real close.
2006 however i see the red sox winning it . yankees are getting old.
who cares... go D-RAYS!!
Go sawx!
Doh! I meant 2005!!!
My gut says Red Sox. But my brain says Yankees. So I vote Yankees.

Yanks.... but I voted Red Sox in the poll... I don't know why, I'm all fucked up on it....
Yankees... Red Sux horrible pitching is more horrible than the Yankees horrible pitching
My ideal scenario is now:
Angels. White Sox. Red Sox. Yankees.
And then both the Red Sox and Yankees are eliminated in the first round.
Actually... I forgot the White Sox and Indians end the season together. So... replace White Sox with Indians.
What is this crap about the White Sox having already clinched? They're 3 up so if the Indians sweep them, they'd be tied. ESPN says the White Sox clinch because they have a better record.
But if the yanks take 1 of 3 at Fenway this weekend, they'd be tied but would win the season series 10-9.
Is ESPN fucked or am I missing something?
They clinched a playoff spot. No matter what happens, they at least get the WC.
Sox win. Yankees lose. Boston and New York are tied in the standings.
i really dont know....
either way i'm having a blast watching this heated rivalry unfold
that ump's strike zone against the Yankees was in the clouds one moment and in the earth's core the next. Fucking disgusting...but more squandered chances with guys on base. Ruben Sierra is frustrating as hell to watch...he stands so damn far away from the plate, no wonder he can't get solid wood on the ball!
My nerves are fried...my voice is coarse from shouting. I love my sports too much.
