Drum n Bass (NOT TRANCE)

yes, i know... this is TRANCEADDICT, but i'd like to let you all know what i've been up to, trance or not

So here it is, if you don't like DnB, don't even bother listening to it, cause that's all it is: dark amens shit. It was fun to work on, i think it came out pretty well (dark as hell).

okay enough talking, here's the link:

F#CK'N RIGHT man......

F#CK TRANCE..haha

this is amazing, for D&B, the darker the better.
You can def throw it down with the best..very impressive work here.
let me know what happens with this song down the road

Posted by EtherealSL on Sep-27-2005 01:31:

hahah glad to see some dnb heads out there... i wouldn't go as far as to say "f*ck trance" cause i heart trance too, lol... after that's what i mainly produce

but yea desty nova, go ahead and mix it in (link me to the set, i'm always lookin to hear more new dnb)

as for the track, i actually handed it to evol intent last friday (omg their set was fucking sick)but i doubt it'll go anywhere (which is why i posted the full), this is only like my 3rd real effort at dnb, but maybe more will come

beautifully done mate. I was on the edge on seat the whole time.

The bass is tremendous.

the break is deep & menacing.

the beats are like chaos in a blender.

Excellent beat work. clashes & smashes to hell nice!

ill be burning this to disk & listen to this in my car for sure.

You kickarse Ethereal! seriously man, this is sweet shit! well done & excellent work!!

CHECK THIS TWISTED SHIT OUT PEOPLES!!!

Hi Ethereal,

I am not a DnB expert but this sounded wicked and quite dark. Only thing I do believe is that you have used quite a few very often used DnB beats from ages ago

I liked listening to the track because overall it is very skillfully done and I love breakbeats

Cheers!

Posted by EtherealSL on Sep-27-2005 18:16:

damn, xenocreater thanks. you should really check out some evol intent, ewun and tim exile... they create some really sick music

nomen nescio, you're absolutely right, this song used the amens sample which has been around for a couple decades at least... but oldschool/dark dnb tends to use that sample a lot, thanks for the comments.

Cool thank you very much. I'll make sure to include the info on it in the tracklist. The mix going to be that same heavy darkstep DnB, I'll send you a PM when I get around to mixing it all. 8) Thanks again.

you know how i feeel about this choon. very nice work on the super dark atmosphere. it just drags a bit in the middle. most djs will have mixed out of it by then anyway tho, so its not a huge deal.

my favorite is still untitled02 (available in my 'milk & cream' mix here) [/promo]

Posted by {b.s.e.} on Sep-28-2005 03:13:

toight, dude, toight. the drums are sick, but i think the bass could be a lot more serious. nice n' dark feel to it but that accompanying eerie synth kinda drowns out the bass imo, which just shouldn't be.

i diggit, just blast out the bass and you have yourself a winner.

was wondering what you use?

Posted by EtherealSL on Sep-28-2005 06:22:

alex, i'm def lookin forward to the set

tyler, i can't believe you dropped a dnb tune in what i thought was a pretty progressive set, lol. shit's funny tho, it goes from like chilled progressive to dark dnb (i should finish that song, shouldn't i?) nice set, i like a lot, especially the second half (AND SEND THE TUNE so we can start workin asap)

b.s.e - i use FL Studio

Posted by tylerc on Sep-28-2005 07:23:

haha yea i actually did that exact set at a show a few weeks ago. at first there was a resounding "wtf" from the crowd, but it got pretty hyped after a minute.

just a little experimentation.

ps new tune sent

nice stuff, been listening to dnb for as long as i can remember. this is quality, good luck.

Posted by EtherealSL on Sep-30-2005 05:10:

sorry, don't mean to bump

would anybody happent of know any good dnb forums? i knew of mw-dnb (midwest dnb) but looks like it got hacked or something?

Ideas, anyone?

Posted by cybernetica on Oct-01-2005 10:13:

Awesome dark DnB. I'm loving every second of it.

The drum work is insane! Sounds like you spend hell of a lot of work into it... Absolutely no complaints from me.

Right now I can only listen to it on headphones, but it sounds very massive already.

9.5/10

www.breakbeat.co.uk is quite a big site..

Posted by aquila on Oct-01-2005 12:20:

I never say no to some dnb, and this is great...my only criticism is that the Amen break in DnB is about as original as the Supersaw in Trance. Still ace though

Posted by Mike_Foyle on Oct-01-2005 12:36:

this is great, only thing i would say is there is maybe a little too much reverb on the first breakbeat, just sounds a bit muddy but still cool as fuck, also the bass is sometimes a little bit sloppy, but im really nitpicking, this is sweet!

Posted by thoughtlessjex on Oct-03-2005 00:58:

DnB, eh? Rockin' man.

Good dark atmosphere.

Yeesh, kick rolls have gotten all the way to DnB, too? meh.

You do very well with the edits, though. The stutters and glitches are very pro.

Not bad, overall.

Posted by EtherealSL on Oct-03-2005 19:50:

thanks for the link to breakbeat.co.uk

i posted the track and they tore it to shreds, haha. looks like i have quite a bit of work to do in that genre if i want to be accepted well over there.
