I have a lot of gay friends, so I have dropped the expression "that's so gay" a long time ago. I think it's offensive simply because we use the expression to describe something we dislike, and well... that's what they are.

It would be like if someone were to say "ewww that's so Slylee", or "what the f***, that is so Floorfiller". It's insulting because they are using something directly related to you to insinuate something isn't pleasant or liked.

Anyway, I think gay guys can be some of the best friends to have.
