Twisted Vinyl

OK, This has probobly been discussed a few times, however I ran a few searches and couldnt find any threads about it.

Here's the deal: I receieved a vinyl from Juno and being a thin vinyl it got twisted during shipment I guess.
They re-sent me a copy and yet again becuase of the vinyl's nature it is twisted.

My question is this: what do you do when you got a twisted vinyl?

Should I just place a pile of books on it and let it straighten up?
and if so, how long do I need to wait, as I dont want the vinyl to be warped.

Some help would he highly appriciated.
Thanks in advance.

nonooo, dont weigh it down with books, try and get a refund, if that fails, just remember to store them upright....

i recieved a JFK 'Good God' today i bought off ebay, and when i took it out the cardbard packet my vinyl had actually snapped in the post, i was pissed, i contacted the seller, and hes gunna get it sorted....its just the way the postal service handle the goods

I Dont wanna bother Juno again, they have been nice enough to re-send a copy without extra charge.
Besides its not their fault, one the vinyl moves on to shipping its postal responsibility.
I'm sure it left the Juno warehouse being straight.

Isnt there a way to deal with this?
I'm sure some of you have experienced in this matter...

BTW I always store my 12" upright.

i noticed a lot of the records i get through the mail have a slight warp in them. i guess the carrier doesn't give a hoot.

maybe you can you press them w/books in an upright possition.

i think vinyl has memory, so once it's warped, you flatten it, then it warp right back.

i remember i have a copy "i never thought i would see the day" the 1st ever sade boot. it's pretty warped. i put in the back of stack up agaist the wall, w/weight of the other records leaning on it for several months. it seemed to have straightened out a bit, but now it looks just as messed up as it did when i first got it.

i heard about methods of heating up (sun, oven, hot water) the record between two hard surfaces (glass, hard plastic...)

dunno if they work, but im sure its been mentioned on the forums before
