First dance song: Well, hell, almost anything can be danceable. First edm song though, probably goes back to the 80's. First trance song probably was children, at least widely, to get lots of airtime.

I think I first heard that damn song at hot wheels in like 1993 and having mixed feelings about it. I liked basslines and the electronic sounds even when I was all of 7 years old, but I remember thinking how much I hated those fuckin vocals Still classic though, heh

You managed to hear it about 7 years before it was recorded. Outstanding.

Man, I remember the time I heard Darude perform Sandstorm live at a packed Fillmore East back in '73.

Right, like you guys have never, ever, exaggerated anything before. I was too lazy to look up the exact release date, sue me.

well in fairness, i guess you were pretty close

Posted by Mebot on Oct-01-2005 07:24:

give or take a few years...

what about eiffel 65 - blue?

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Oct-01-2005 13:30:

You know the point is to find the oldest. Since the oldest EDM track posted here was Pump Up the Volume (by yours truly) the point is to try and think of an older, successful track.

And I'm not sure that Autobahn counts as EDM.
