XDR's TranceAddict NON-LIVE Competition Mix

Hi there!

This is an Ableton Live mix I made for the TranceAddict NON-LIVE MP3 Mixing competition I. I won second place with this and free hosting (special thanks to mr2gti!). So here it is for everyone to download and hopefully enjoy!

To make a non-live mix such as your mix requires a hell of an imagination and of course a good ear. You've successfully hit the mark in both those areas. Also, your flow of the mix is great. Every track complimented each other except for the last two. Those last two songs are boring and that's what I think brought the mix down, energy-wise. Overall excellent mix and keep up the good work.

Wow, this is an awesome set. I really like the track selection, good flow with the mixing. Lots of beautiful music on this one, fo' sure.

Yeah I feel the same way about it. It went a bit downhill in the end. I didn't really know how to properly end the set back then and so I just put some tunes there that I really liked, but yeah they didn't really fit that well

The Mash-up, Edits, and the transitions are great.

i think th emix has a very good flow, and you are very creative, keep the good work!



The onyl thimg I didn't Like, was the edit of the last track, I think the original Full mix gives a different feeling, but well I guess you did that to keep the mix below 80 minutes, so that would be able to burn on cd-r =)

No matter this, great work still =)

hey, i really liked the mix a lot... your mashups were all very interesting and they worked well.. however.... the one mashup i didn't think worked very well was havannah and desert eagle. those two tracks just didn't seem to fit very well on top of each other. i guess it didn't sound horrible, but there were some clashings of melodies... other than that... your mix was great. keep up the good work

Some interesting mash-ups and very cool transitions but the overall set lacks a real structure ,progression IMO and I had the feeling it was just a random choice of tracks or that some tracks were choosen because they fit well with the previous one.

This is however something I deserve very little credit for. It was the intro for Scott Bond's Ahead CD. All I did was add an ending for the Whiteroom track so I could use it as intro for sets. The actual blend from "Jump The Next Train" into "The Whiteroom" is done by Scott Bond. Just thought I should make that clear

Pretty funny that it even ended up in the hands of Paul van Dyk and that he made a rework of it!
