tech trance suggestions

People are using the term tech trance to describe the new marcel woods - advanced. I have never heard of this genre.

What other tracks are considered tech trance?

Forget that and hit up some Midi Miliz and Opsis.

Posted by ahp2002 on Oct-05-2005 16:37:

techtrance = combo of trance with techno or techhouse elements.

good example is sander van doorn (SVD or Sam Sharp), who has been climbing the dancecharts with his productions.

Thumbs up

tdr - squelch (sander van doorn rmx) +++

..and promptly close realplayer after hearing 10 seconds of a sample like i did

on topic, i'd struggle to call advanced techtrance personally. i'm not sure how i'd pigeonhole it exactly but isn't very representative of techtrance at any rate.

would recommend svd as mentioned above, also a few randoms from this year:

lambler - fuel/quasar
walt - plagas
mark sherry pres outburst - vengeance/live & learn
mark norman - T34
marcel woods vs jessyln - flora/fauna
scott mac - damager 02 (mac zimms remix)
e-craig - never fall in love again
re-create - liberty/fight club
precursor - solar 1 (base mix)
eye wall - bad deal
jochen miller - india (miller dub)
silent elektra - for this moment (jochen miller remix)
clokx - feelings (dub mix)
e-craig - call it a day
modena - resonator
silverblue - to my twin soul
alexander gustaff - technetic (mark norman remix)

can range from trance with a dirty techy backing to driving techno with added trancey synths & basslines, plenty of variety up for grabs

Fred Baker - Total Blackout
Fred Baker Vs. Keyboard Kids - All Of Us
Dark Alliance - Genetic/Vibration
Mac Zimms - Shock/Kenetic
Scott Mac - I'm Watching You
Everything by Randy Katana
Everything by Sander Van Doorn
Almost everything by Oliver Lieb esp L.S.G (the true 'tech-trance' as you may call it.)

I don't think any techtrance is representative of techtrance. It's just a grey area between techno and trance. Could be anything!

Yeah, he did Boomerang, Airforce One, the JFK remix and a remix of one of the Sensation Anthems, I think it was 2003.

EDIT: Actually, he has more stuff out than I thought

that's just harder trance imho.

Techtrance will suit more stuff from Oliver Lieb & Oliver Klitzing with more emphasis on techno than on trance, marco v's stuff like 'revolt' and 'the mutalisk' would also fit this to me, but the genre since tiesto's decided he played techtrance has moved more onto the trance side

+1 stuff from Fred Baker shouldn't be called techtrance at all

i don't have any final answer hear, but producers like Marcel Woods and Jesselyn etc write Tech-Trance Remix on remixes of their own tunes, which is a reason to think of it as tech-trance.

some tunes i view as tech-trance:
Robert Burns - Polestar
Raoul Neros - Impacto
Bart Claessen - Playmo (1st Play)
Solid Haze - Thruster
Sander Van Doorn - A.K.A.
Exalted - Cavity

damn, someone just had to mention that one
it's has nothing to do with the Marcel Woods style, wether Marcel Woods is tech-trance or not.
traffic is just pop-music like the recent marco v tunes

Hell no, he has a lot more stuff

If You Don't Know is a killer track, once you get passed the annoying robot part. His remix of Sensation's 2003 anthem was pretty fair too.

His latest track is called Apache and let's just say that it won't let you down

yeah but that's like saying stuff from ferry/armin/etc shouldn't be called trance. times have moved on

true... best description i guess. just that advanced doesn't really sound like most tracks commonly classed as techtrance nowadays, asking for TT recommendations probably won't get you many tracks sounding like it

and i'd say traffic is to techtrance what sandstorm was to epic/uplifting trance... about as simplified and commercialised as you can get it without it crossing completely into the pop territory... imo that is.
