Digital Sampling (bypass the souncard) can any one advise?
I have an extremely powerfull computer with an extremly shit sound card. I don't mind it for monitoring purposes (for the moment), but recording anything through the inputs on it are abysmal.
I had a program Called audio grabber which alleges to read the data in binary straight off the cd in the drive thus making a perfect digital copy.
No matter what i tried it would only let me use the analogue option in AG and not take advantage of the digital option. it said i had to have the right version of MSCDEX (or similar to make it work) and after much toying I can't get it to work (it informed me to use Windows 95 or later other wise it wouldn't work) i run 98se and would like to have the facility of making digital rips straight from CD'S.
Does anyone know any good programs for doing this??
can anyone come up with a solution?
get a better sound card........mine only cost $100 and its excellent
what soundcard do you use???
When ripping a CD in digital form, you don't even need a soundcard. The data doesn't go anywhere near it. All you need is a CD drive that supports MSCDEX.
For this, I use a program called CDEx. It works fine, I've never had any problems with it, but I can't remember where it's at. A quick search in Google should do the trick.
