Playstation 2 Modding

A few basic questions before I buy one.

1. Is the slim PS2 harder to mod based on it's size, better because it's the latest version or the same as the regular PS2?

2. How hard is it to make backup copies directly from a game (assuming that I have the license and permission of the people who made the game of course).

3. How much (Canadian funds) is a mod chip these days?

4. Can you point me in the directions of a website which will give me more info about making copies of games or burning images (if it even matters how fast I burn it or on which media (+ or - R).

Thanks.

oh and can I play PAL games on it once modded?

The slim PS2 doesn't support a hard drive, so modding it isn't as cool. The onlything I have done to mine is put a hard drive in it and bought the HD Loader program that allows me to "rip" discs and "burn" them to the hard drive.

So I can rent shitty titles that I don't want to drop coin on and play through them. Then I can either erase it or decide to keep it.

I don't care about the hard drive, I just want to play burn and maybe even PAL games.

I got my ps2 pre modded so I can play all kinds of games on it. You can play PAL games on it but the only problem that you're gonna face is gonna be your tv. Your tv runs on the NTSC video system (I'm assuming) so PAL games are gonna run black and white on your tv. As far as +/-DVDRs go.. my ps2 plays both so they can be burnt on either format.

virtually all new TVs are NTSC & PAL, so just buy yourself a new tv if you havent got one already
