i_agree_100000%_on_this_topic_
it_does_get_annoying_having_to_delete_them
L_O_L_
yea_!
hehe it fucking pisses me off too , i always have to rename my mp3s to this standard : DJ Something - Bastard Track (Dude Remix).mp3 lol
yeah i hate it too....
but you guys know why they do that? because a server won't let you have spaces in the filename.... hence the underscore. But, in the spirit of joining the celebration, allow me to say that i, too, hate the underscored-filenames!

i_usually_don't_bother_about_them_until_one_day,_i_decide_to_clean_up_my_HDD.
takes_a_hell_lot_of_time_renaming_them.
i think there are some programs(mp3 file manager) or something , that makes renaming much more easiler..
asd
there are certain reasons for the undercores
some times they are there, because some hosts doesnt allow empty space in file names, and in other cases they are there because thats the standard release form for the release groups
for example: 01_artist-trackname-source-year-group.mp3
Then don't download them!!
I really don't give a rats ass bout that. The releasegroups just releases the mp3z like this.
All my songs are incl. the underscores!!
here a couple of examples
4_Strings-Into_The_Night_(The_Remixes)-Vinyl-2001-SND
Altitude-Night_Stalker-Vinyl-2001-SND
Athos_-_Infect-Vinyl-2001-iDC
DJ_Tiesto-Urban_Train__German_Remixes-Vinyl-2001-SND
Faithless-Tarantula__Remixes-Promo_Vinyl-2001-MTC
Morph-Mxm_Overdrive-Promo_Vinyl-2001-TGX
Marco_V_-_Godd-Vinyl-2001-iPZ
Does this really bother you so much??
GREETZ!!
just_ucking_delte_them_then_nobody_else_will_have_to_like_me_coz_it_loks_raggy_as_fuck_!
oh_yeh_and_i_hate_them_triple___underscores_you_sometimes___get! argh!____
yeah they piss me off, but i think ratha than continuin complainin sum1 shud find a renamer proggy
Guys! If we upload files with spaces in them, the server will make the space into 20% instead... example:
Albert - Bastard Track (Dude Remix)
Albert20%-20%Batsard20%Track20%(Dude20%Remix)
Prefer that? Unless someone comes up with a new system that provides the spaces we will have to write the underscores...
Too bad I just killed the thread
i find the %20 to be much more annoying then the _ lol I'd rather have that then the %20 anyday! hehehehe
wouldn't it just be better to do it like this, then all u hav 2 do is put in spaces:
eg. Syntone-ConnectedToTheWorld(OriginalMix)UTR

Man, some of you guys took this WAYYYYYY to seriously....
Juricimo was just stating how it's annoying, he's not making a big stink about it (not "complaining" as someone put it), was just trying to start a conversation on a topic we all know about!
mmmkay......
on that note, i like and have been using what boy_luke suggested..... just no spaces (ex. DJTiesto-UrbanTrain.mp3) for me, thats a lot easier

| Originally posted by Coup i dont see direct downloads given by you? maybe u should post ur own before complaining about the way others to there, i add _'s yes they are annoying, but there is no other way apart from crammingthewholelottogetherwhichasreadingthisbecomesveryannoying. u get downloads for free, and to spent 5 secs a track renaming is nothing, sorry to be a kill joy but to even make a thread complaining about this is pathetic, sure others feel the same, flame away if you wish. sorry. |
Well, Juricimo...
Without even realizing it, you just did something very bad for the TA forums...
The name of your thread was a very long one word that browsers can't break up into separate lines, so the window is forced to expand horizontally. That makes the whole forum very hard to read, you gotta use the scrollbar all the time and deal with re-draws. And it's all because of your thread!!!

Some of you people bitch way too much.
Spaces just leave more room for error when linking to files - whether there are one too many spaces or not. With the way I name files you always know it's Artist_Name-Song_Name-(Mix_Name)-REL_GROUP-www_tranceaddict_com.mp3. It'll always be like this, so get used to it.

Use that program if you want to rename stuff to remove the _ or _-_
