So, will I get dissed for going to TIESTO and posting this thread??

It's at a point where I am afraid to post that I will be attending Tiesto. You guys need to calm down on the TIESTO SUCKS blah blah blah because it has gotten to a point where you guys are coming down on the people who do like him and will be attenting his night november 25th. I really thought that this scene was about chilling out and not being jugemental of other people. I am excited as hell for Tiesto, he is the one that got me into EDM. He is a gateway artist, an artist that gets people into EDM and then once they love him, they go on to bigger, and acording to most of you, better things. Armin is still one of my Top DJ's and I have seen him a couple of times in the past year so I am planning on seing Tiesto, the DJ who got me into this and I am going to have a great night. He has gotten this big for a reason, cheesy as he may be, he's a great mixer that simply doesnt play music that most of you guys like. I do.

Since when does all this becom a competition also? Circus vs. aria blah blah blah ... we are all part of the same thing here, we are all here for the music, lets not start rivalleries. This is one of the reasons I go to Stereo, because you would never see any of this there. I know I will be dissed for this but alot of you know what I am talking about!

So if you are going to Tiesto, me and my best friend Tracy will see you there to celebrate her birthday, if not! I'm sure I will see you at the next great DJ event, you guys are all awsome.

I don't believe tiesto to be good for the scene and don't get me wrond, i've seen him on more than one occasion and i can judge. The thing is with tiesto is that he is not a gateway artist like you say. It's actually become cool to listen to tiesto and most of the people will go to the tiesto show not even wondering if they like the music but just to be able to show off with their friends and say ... well i've seen tiesto that time and bla bla bla, the same exact way that 514 filled the Bell Center with Oakie in 2001 and 2002 for Oasis.

Yes Tiesto give a shitload of visibility to our scene but, he also is somewhat responsible for the explosion of what the dj's ask for a gig. He has become so big that he actually now asks for a % of what is asked at the door. In that fashion he will not go play in small clubs anymore because he's not able to make enough money that way. The days when Tiesto spinned @ Living are over. Let's face it also, for those who were at beb, when tiesto comes somewhere there is so many people in the Venue that it is not fun anymore, how can you want people not acquainted with the scene to actually get involved and like it if they have a hard time breathing and if everyone is litterally walking on each others shoes ?

As for the rivalry between Aria Vs. Circus and Stereo, I must say that there is a HUGE rivalry between all three clubs, but this rivalry is only expressed on message boards. Sure when you go to any clubs there aren't nobody in the clubs that talks about the other clubs but the internet is another thing. Club politics is here for good. And if you say that there is a lot of respect from the people who go to stereo i would point you Www.Mtlnights.com, those a people that go out to Stereo and there was a hell of a lot of Aria bashing throughout the years that i've been a member on the board.

I'm not gonna jump on you because you like tiesto, even tho i think he's cheesy bullshit and that he'd sell his soul for money. I do wish you the best of the night that night. Hope you'll come back to give us your review and please please please let us know how packed it was.

I hear you and what your saying. I am part of Mtlnights but just rescently became a member, I dont know what happened back in the day, maybe you are right. I am still a baby when it comes to this kind of stuff so I guess I will add that I am speaking for myself and my friends when I say these comments. I have never seen people from stereo try to persuade anyone to go there over aria or circus with some of the stuff i've seen here. BUT, like I said, ive only been around for 7 or 8 months.

As for Tiesto, you are totally right in what you are saying. I understand your point and I will probably see it everywhere on that night but I am again speaking for myself and most of my friends, I got about a dozzen of my friends into EDM through Tiesto and maybe all these people who are going to be cool will find something in it they love and feel like I do and will look further into what it has to offer?

There's something you have to understand when you read our comments.

Here (mtl-TA), most of the users are friends, friends of friends, etc.
Some of us know each other for some years now and when we meet at events or in the street... you couldn't tell that we met from the internet.

therefor, when we say "this place sucks...this place rules" its more like "Ho no guys, I hate this place, let's go there instead it will be more fun cause of this and that"

its like going to a club with your friends...
some people want to go there but others don't" you all end up at one place at the end

saw him at BEB this year and to be very honest just like Krinker said in his post here, its not fun going to a gig where no one is acquainted with the artist and his/her music, that is exactly what it felt like @ BEB and for that reason i choose not to see him in MTL! but i will see him the night before you do in Detroit at the STate theatre!!! will post review and pics in the T.O forum check it out when the time comes!!!

I totally remember that night.. it was November of 2003 I believe and I was pissed that I didn't get to see him there.. that would have been so much better than seeing him in the large, overcrowded venues we get to see him in now.. but tell me for all of those who went... I love the gay-stereo link that everyone always does. I love trance, I love house. i LOOOOOOOVE TRANCE .... I LOOOOOOOOOOVE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!! lol .... i think some of you might understand this. I got started with trance, raves, tiesto, armin ... slowelly got more into it, loved it ... then discovered house. Now I listen mostly to house, i live it, i breathe it and stereo is the place to do that. But Trance is what started me and when I hear trance, i cant help but smiling and having thoughts like "home is where the heart is" (by that i mean, nothing is better than this) .... do you understand? Why cant i like both?

you are allowed to like both.. some people I guess just don't realize that others have an open mind to ALL types of EDM and not just one specific type.. whether it is "cheesy trance" or something else!

it is good to keep your horizons open with that.. imo! besides, the more dj's you like and listen to, the more parties you will go to and the more fun you may possibly have
so with that being said, go have fun!!!
and party hard for me too while you are at it.. I'm staying home this Friday night

Stereo is a nice club but when you are not gay, it's a bit boring.

Stereo has lost a lot of what it used to be, the Sound system is not even close to be what it used to be during the day. The vibe is extroardinary during huge packed nights, but when it's not that packed it's actuall FUCKING boring !

Stereo is a gay nightclub and whoever denies it is just fooling themselves. More than half of the dance floor is populated by homosexuals caressing each other. You're telling me that's not gay? What is it then; are they all congratulating each other for a job well done at the office?

I could care less about homosexuals, but the place is as straight as a circle. Stop denying it thinking that the club isn't gay; yes, the music is good and the sound system is superb, but they're all there having gay fun... with you dancing in the middle. You can close your eyes, but sooner or later some random dude will come up to you, asking to suck your cock in the washrooms. Think I'm joking? Go dance alone, without any of your friends, far away from any females and you'll see this event loop throughout the night.



Now, moving on to Tiesto: he has polluted the EDM scene with people from Dome. Greatest example would be Bal En Blanc (a disaster). You know the world has gone to hell when you've got Benny Benassi and Tiesto in the same line-up. 514 Productions should pack their shit up and leave. They could give less of a shit to the EDM scene; they just want your money while leaving you to go fill up your water bottle from hot water taps. Holy shit, I should've brought some fucking Taster's Choice coffee powder to compliment the hot water.


Anyways, that's the rant of the day.
