Venezuela 0-1 Paragua

Team------P W D L F A Pts
Argentina-16 9 4 3 27 16 31
Brazil-----16 8 6 2 31 16 30
Paraguay--17 8 4 5 23 22 28

Colombia--17 5 6 6 23 16 21
Chile------17 5 6 6 18 22 21
Venezuela-17 5 3 9 20 25 18
Peru------16 3 6 7 16 25 15
Bolivia----16 4 1 11 18 32 13

Thursday Morning Matches:
Chile vs Ecuador (Chile should win, hard to beat at home, Ecuador only win at thier home because of the high altitide)

Paraguay vs Columbia (Paraguay have the slight edge)

Uruguay vs Argentina (its do or die for Uruguay, they must win, to vs
Australia, but its a hard opponent. Argentina can just take it easy since they have already qualified, not sure what the outcome could be)
Brazil vs Venezuela (well this will be very hard for Venezuela to even score a goal against them yet alone drawing/winning the match)

go CHILE! this would be awsome for me, watch them here then watch Aus or Chile in Germany ahhh a dream!

I remember when chile played at olympic about 5-6 years ago. THere were more chilian supporters than Aussie supporters... a sight to behold. Whatever team we play were gonna be fucken struggling. The only positive is farina is no longer coach.

Australia IMO lacks quality to beat most SA teams, esp. Uruguay.
Then again, it might be just Farina not utilizing players properly. (Or not good enough competition in Oceania group)

In any case, I think Oceania should play Asia for a spot but that's just me.

They don't play together enough against quality sides, and they lack depth.

Isn't that gonna happen next time?

When it comes to Soccer, I'm a bandwagon jumper I'll admit it. I couldn't care less until it comes around to World Cup time.

next world cup qualifiers Australia will be battling it out with the AZNs. This will be more interesting

australia vs korea (or japan).

bring it.

well boys after this world cup we arent in oceania anymore anyways, we are in the asia conference so it should improve our squad a bit

Posted by OLi_A on Oct-09-2005 11:39:

if any of you watched the oceania qualifiers against the solomon islands, we would be lucky to beat the u17 side of whoever we play next. heres hoping with new management that they will perform better

also, who agrees with everton resting cahill and releasing him 48 hours before their next friendly? i swear the man is a workhorse with the amount of football he has played since coming to everton, i say give him a break and let him head us into a better position

Hiddink seems to have a fairly decent clue, 5-0 against the jamacians although depelted, looked fairly convincing! We actually played some not bad one touch stuff.

Posted by 00soups00 on Oct-10-2005 20:32:

it would still be nice to see us advance against thosse sth american teams

fark i hate Paragay... actually know, i hate that Iranian team we lost too more (Azizi).

grrr - waking up to go ot crown at 4am to see us lose to those diving paragayian poofs ://

hope we play Columbia

haha yeh got to be one of the most over-rated teams in existence

Posted by sLiCk_NiCk on Oct-11-2005 14:05:

i think no matter who australia plays it will be very difficult to get through. our defence is where we lack and the south american teams are very attacking.

going places with Beckham in the midfield buddy

Lampard and Gerrard doesn't seem to be working either. Both great individual players undoubtedly, but dont suit playing alongside each other.

firstly, to be over-rated you need to be rated. who's rating england?

hehe, yeah i know tbh i only catch competition games, so im never up on how well england is fitting together. but that dont make me cheer for em any less

if lampard and gerrard arent working well together then lampard can ride the wooden horse during the competition. i <3 gerrard.

i think it will be Uruguay again

me gusta mucho Argentina!

Posted by Teflon_Teapot on Oct-12-2005 00:23:

i reckon australia stands a good chance of going through. our performance against jamaica was very solid and we also had a large number of injuries. huus hiddinck is also a master coach of players that are not top quality he really pulls a side together. which is good given australia needs to play as a team to beat a south american team. i watched highlights of the south american qualifiers and i reckon we are in with a chance, uruguay did not look convincing and chile and columbia have been struggling to score goals.

go aussies!!!
