Dunno Whiteroom 2005

I don't get it, why does this track have a 2005 release... ALREADY

Posted by TheVrk on Oct-10-2005 05:50:

Good question, but guess is cause it was so big.

if that track would have been more underground people would have loved it, seems like alot of people are bashing the track only cause alot of people like it.. i think its a great track.. wether or not the follow ups to this track is good or not is another discussion though

it was the entire epitome of where trance went wrong last year, a piece of unadulterated fluff, and worse still, they went on to ruin Airwave - Save Me, as well as Andy Moor ruining Tilt's reputation. The sooner you lock up people like this to prevent them producing again, the sooner we can all dance around the campfire singing 'shiney happy people'

lol if anything, andy moor allowed tilt to put out one more album. lord knows the fuckin coked out members themselves couldn't put out anything original after Graham left.

Andy has an amazing musical background, you can hear it in his melodies. as for whiteroom, it was tune of its time, i wish ian would pleasure us with his own unique skillset

and on that note you've hereby rendered the rest of your views null & void.

in answer to the first question, .

whiteroom (the tune) wasn't atrociously shit in my book, but still horrendously overrated & more influencial than i'd have liked it to be. it sounds like a fucking masterpiece next to their save me remix anyway... which i managed to avoid until hearing in a friend's mix the other day. i think that is possibly one of the worst things i've ever heard in my entire life. and when i say 'things' i'm not restricting that to music either, it almost came close to hearing when my first girlfriend had cheated on me or that my uncle had died of cancer when i was 7... dear lord

I must say I love Tilt The World Doesn't Know (one of the best trance songs ever made IMO)and Whiteroom (original), but every other track made by Andy Moor are just weakly produced (except the vocal tricks) and overhyped. Does Andy cut off all frequencies below 150Hz? Haven't heard any bass in his songs... trance without bass = car without wheel.

uhh, assuming you buy your music go look at the spectrum level on the world doesn't know(not sure if thats one u consider). or go listen to halcyon... fills my entire spektrum. and i dare you to speak outloud that air for life doesn't go below 150. yellow bird superfly goes way below, should i keep going?

When Graham etc left tilt, it wasn't time for a new member, it was time to call the end of what had been a top notch project.

As for Whiteroom being the tune of it's time, well if that's true then it's one hell of a mediocre 'time' for us all to live in. Just because it got caned by all manner of boring DJ doesn't make it a good tune, it just makes it played out.

What the hell are you talking about? Most of the stuff on Tilt's album is driven by the bottom-end.

And... Twelve > World Doesn't Know

i agree tilt should of ended.

as for whiteroom, it was released as of 8/04. you find me a track that stirred up the genre more. i'll give you a +/- 3 month window. prove me wrong

Posted by Project 7 on Oct-10-2005 13:09:

well that tune used the vocals from BT - Rememeber was this credited on vinyl or what?

Posted by varun on Oct-10-2005 13:15:

Couldn't they have thought of anything better?

tbh it split the genre. you have the 'old timers' who mainly disliked it, and those who only got into trance from 2003/4 who loved it. With the current state of the scene, it would be impossible to find a tune that stirred things up more simply because a lot of what seasoned listeners considered 'good' weren't as big anyway.

As for good trance in 2004....

I don't know are you listening any other than Andy Moor or VST trance. But compare his productions to well produced house or trance and you'll hear a big difference in low frequencies.

just chopped up... but there are quite a few trance addicts on here that recognize that the vocals are jan's from a mile away... not sure if that's a healthy thing or not though.

Original Whiteroom was passable. It wasnt great, but it was ok. It was overhyped like mad and I certainally wouldnt go "OMG YES!" over it. But it was a reasonable track.

Since then tho, Andy Moor has done nothing but shit. I rant about it all the time, but the Whiteroom remix of SummerDream is absolutly shocking. It is the perfect track to define "bland, fluffy, monotonous, overdone crap". If theyd stopped the Whiteroom project after the Whiteroom track, maybe people would have some respect for them. But since then, every track they have made has been awful and Ive lost any respect for the Whiteroom name that I ever had.

Edit: And a rerelease of Whiteroom in an 05 mix, only one year after the original, is the perfect definition of a 'cash cow'.

I recognized them instantly. When I first heard whiteroom i thought it was a remix of Remember.
If they didnt credit BT they could all go and fuck themselves.
