[Yet Another Yahel Remix] Yahel - VoYage (Yarune RemYx)

Hi guys!

Oh no not another one! :P This took the 5th place in the competition, which underlines my disappointment in my own remix I've been feeling right after sending this in. On the other hand the break and main part have good things and judges gave high points for overall sounding, which is important to me.

Because this is a classic with a recognizable lead sound, I wanted to keep that intact and build a whole new track around it. So I kept the main melody and tried to make the same lead sound...

Have a listen, thanks!

Yahel - VoYage (Yarune RemYx)

Nice solid kicks in the intro. Very DJ Friendly. I like those intro synths around the 1:00 mark.

Those atmospheric pads in the break sounded very good, but it dragged on for too long. People on the dancefloor would be getting bored.

The synth used in the main lead sounds a bit weak in contrast to the rest of the track. Sounds almost out of place.

Everything else that I'm hearing in the background sounds superb.

Pretty nice work overall.

Pads in the break are pretty-damn-cool. And that ambient noise is fun.

I like that slowly arping synth at 5:50 or so.

This was a bit of standard mix, I must say. Production is excellent, but it lacks that personal flair and ooph that make a truly good remix.

listening to it...

IMO, I think you did a better job than I did with the melody... I know it was hard to work with, but you did a decent job with it...

Sounds very uplifting... and very beautiful... It did sound a bit lacking in the originality department, but sounded good nevertheless

lead sound is completely out of place...especially in the break, sounds very mono

That is a compliment to the rest of the track I presume?

Could be indeed, was hard to get this one full. It's unisoned, which does some 'uniting' to the stereo as well I think. The chorus and verb on it didn't help obviously.

Anyways, thanks guys.

Hey, greetingz to you, Jeroen.

Really digging your remix like all of your works.
The breakdown-part is very nice and chilling. And then I love the part when the original melody fades into to song and the bass is coming back again.

Nice work, m8.

nice solid drums to start with! really like them.

during the first break at 2;30- those vocals are nice and are used very well. sounds superb played loud.

beat come back; that main melody drags the whole track down your style sounds like there is loads of emotion in it but the melody doesnt for some reason. probably cos im so sick of it-lol.

everything else is top notch imo. very thick, full and crisp sound especially around the 6;40 mark.

i like your work cos it doesnt sound softwareish.

def my favourite rendition i ve heared yet.

I'm really enjoing this tune, the first three minutes are great! Don't like the sound of the main melody, and the last tone of it could be slightly longer to smoothen it out. Excellent production! This is on my top3 list of the best Voyage remixes I have heard from the competition!

really solid first 3 minutes as said above, great bass, love the melody sooooooo much (the yahel one )

the background melody, really reminds me of the ferry corsten style, i think you should get a sharper sound for that, make it more upfront and add a couple high notes at times to that ferry melody,
actually reminds me of Kai Tracid - Loneliness (Above and Beyond Remix)

o, and looove the string, gotta bring that out more, the strings during the melody part im taking about...

anyways, kewl remix
keep it up

Peace
Ron

Downloading now, sure a damn big bunch of remixes up here!

Btw, where's the thread of the remix compo? I'd love to see the results.

Cheers,
Wim

lovely production...but would love to hear it including a better compressed main melody

* listening *

really enjoyable percussions in the intro, i love those bongos, the bass is nice and clear, i really like the break in this track, very soft, u bring on a nice climax in the track after the breakdown, all elements are crisp and clear.. but i think the lead gets a bit thin, and it gets a bit boring after the second break, i wish u added something else there. worth waiting for, nice harmonic effects though..

i liked this remix very much, but i found it a bit too empty for the track duration..

definitely nice work though

Excellent work Jay.
Not much to add to really, don't even agree with some of the critique but that's just me.

cheers
