How do YOU search for music?

I am starting this topic primarily because I need to know the answer, but after a few of you have put in your ideas then it could well become a useful reference point....

I for example went hunting for a track called'KLF - Kylie Said To Jason'

I used:

WinMX (www.winmx.com)
Yahoo (www.yahoo.com)
Lycos (www.lycos.com)
Google (www.google.com)

For search criteria in each of the three search engines I used the following string of text: 'klf kylie said jason mp3 download'

I rarely find that I cannot find a track by using the above methods - but today I couldn't find my track! What are your methods of locating any type of music, be it trance or whatever.

Well i get songs from www.audiogalaxy.com nearly everything is on there.

i look for dj charts, playlist of livesets, playlists of cd's, i go trough all the treads in this forum. I copy the titel of tracks that i don't have. And I look for all this tracks on audiogalaxy.

I agree the resources here are pretty kick ass!

But I too have been having troubles since the demise of Napster. I use Morpheus but its hard to get obscure electronica using that. If you look for pop or Hip-Hop you will find it easy.

So I too use WinMX with greater luck but still, find it very diffficult to complete a download. I find tonnes of users w/ the track I want but nobody shares it. They make you wait in a cue for potentially hours. I have tried and walked away from my comp for a few hours and found some trax still qeued. Piss off I say!

I hear for Audiogalaxy you need FTP software and have to upload and download with ratios etc. Is that true guys and gals

no you don�t have to upload to ftps (this is just for special file types)
you share and download the mp3 files like in any other filesharing program
