Goldenscan - Halcyon (Kthought Remix) [FULL 320Kbps]

Hey all, I've re-accoplished my remix of Goldenscan - Halcyon, a better mixdown along with a more competetive lead are the 2 major factors above my last remix, but it certainly has a more lively feel to it this time around!

listening...

weak kick....
nice synths...
nice bass...
that flute...doesnt fit well with the track....
flanger effect & gurgle kicks ass!!
i really like your main synth, sounds melancholic, i like melancholic sounds.

nice track man! change the kick with something warmer and you got 8.5 from me, change the flute and you got 9.0

Hey thanks for checkin this tune out, I'm sure everybodies had their fill with these remixes but you decided to leave me feedback and that means alot = )

Maybe i could mix up the kick a little, and as for the "Flute" i had a piano but it sounded too generic, so i picked something else.

But thanks again for your feedback!

Good work Mr. K-Thought.

I would definately give your kick some more attention, warming it up a bit might help (IE compress it with a quick attack so it cuts off a little bit of the kicks attack, but not too much, then it just becomes a floppy kick).

Also, I would note that your style of limiting... is quite harsh. For a dreamy track like this I would really give yourself some more dynamic range and focus on really really good mixing. You lose some things when more layers come in. I too am guilty of just putting an L1/L2 (or now the L3) on my master fader and just calling it good.

The bass is damn good. Anyway... sorry ADD. Yea everything sounds HELLA mushed together for such a dreamy intense track.

It's solid though! It just needs some improvments!

hey K-Thought,

Incredible nice beginning to this track with the percussions. Good stuff

Very nice build up. the mastering of the track could be better i.m.o , the track sounds a bit muffled. You need to "open" up the track more, EQ it with more highs.

The break is really nice mate, I Love the voices in the track, the leadsection is okay. Okay this remix can not hold up to the original but it is quite a pleasant listen.

Keep it up!

Cheers!

I still haven't heard the original of this tune! But there's been heaps of remixes. This is one of the best I've heard, the tune of course is nice but your production on this is excellent.
Some of the synths could be slightly better, the one around 3:14 sounds harsh ( i realise it's meant to really stand out, but you could take a bit of edge off it ). Also I didn't like the way the breakbeat comes in very suddenly around then.
Other than that, the kick/bass sounds are superb and really drive the track on. Excellent fx and overall mastering.
Nice remix!

+
vocal bits, the effect at 3:03, the mooving bassline melody(not the bassline itself), pad instrumentation

-
main melodic line(i know its a remix but main melody still is weak)

recomendations: even though the track has a lot of elements it seems kind of static and the melodic structure doesnt do it for me. I dont think its any fault of yours cause you are afterall remixing it. something lacks, i dont know what it is....
