Easy Question for Technical People...I Hope
So I moved and have had to adjust my set up. And of course this leads to problems. I think I know what the problem is, I'm just not sure what to do about it.
Coming out of the back of my mixer I have the RCA outputs split, 1) going to my powered monitors (this part is working fine) and 2) going around the room (about 35 feet) to my amplifer that has bigger speakers attached. The problem is that I'm having to crank the volume up very high to get much of a sound out of the amplifer (part 2 above).
Because the run is so far between my mixer and amplifier does it mean that the gague of the wire has to be bigger? If so what size of wire would be approprate? Or is the problem something else?
Any help would be appreciated :-)
hey dude...
considering the 35 foot wire you will lose sound, quality. also you're plugging the wire into an amp and then speaker...each time you have a connection you will lose quality (volume, clarity...etc). so best thing i'd suggest is have all your speakers the same (eithe direct or pluged into the same amp)...that will ensure that there is not much delay and they sound similar.
also, i'm assuming you have your powered speakers closer to you...therefore they will always sound lounder than the back speakers.
