Access Virus and M-Audio soundcards
Hi,
I'm having a bit of trouble connecting my access virus c to my computer. I have already emailed access support if anyone asks.
Anyway, when attempting to open the soundiver the program is having trouble finding the virus. I keep getting the message 'no new devices found' and possibly one about a MIDI error or a 'SysEx communication error'.
- The cabling is correct
So I emailed access and the response I got was that:
"Sorry, but I have overseen you're using an M-Audio
Interface. Unfortunately M-Audio interfaces in general will have problems with SoundDiver (at least most of them including
the 2496). Apart from that Emagic never released a Windows XP optimized version of SoundDiver, since they dropped the PC support for that before Windows XP was out".
Is this the likely reason? Has anybody else had problems with M-Audio Audiophiles and virus's?
What should I do?
Is a new soundcard really required?
Thanks a lot
i stopped using my 2496 because it's SUCH an old card. it was freezing out my sonar and then i had problem's w/ my virus b. i've now switched to Echo MIA MIDI and have had no problems since + echo's customer service has been awesome
When I used sounddriver with my virus c and M-audio delta 66 I had same problems. After I switched to RME soundcard, the sounddriver works perfect. I have no problems at all. It just works..
holy shit, so that could be the problem? Cause me and member Loock have the exact same problem, soundiver dont work...and we both have m-audio cards and virus C
So what are your exact problems?
Can you get any sound at all?
i dont have an m-audio card but sound diver is shitty and i use to get that midi error/sysex communication error.
i raised the buffers for midi settings and stuff and it works fine now no more errors, maybe u can try that first
I've been using a 24/96 and my Virus C for a few years now, no problems at all.
I also use SoundDiver 3.0 and SoundDiver Virus.
Occasional (ie: rare) issues that require exit and restart of SoundDiver, but apart from that all good.
well I have a virus Classic desktop and the audiophile 2496 I havnt had any sort of problems. I was just wondering what the problem is specifically? I have been thinking about getting a new sound card but never really knew what a "Good" one does.... in any case maybe i can be of some help..
