Love Whats your Favorite Melbourne DJ/Producer, and your favorite set from them?

Can be any Genre.
And Must include a reason.

1) would be Mr Bateman, after he tore altitude apart at the most recent transcend. Never before have i heard such a mean mix!

2) Strangis Vs Pana @ GTR(room) - Absolutly Pumping Set, Speechless.

(P.S This is not a blowjob thread at all, more of a Trophy Cabnet of High Achievers)

Jono Fernandez for his Live On JJJ Mixup (29.11.03) set

best prog breaks set i have ever heard, and all the tunes on it are from australian producers

Phil K

Sunny Xmas Party 2003. The most perfect sunrise set i have ever heard.

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Oct-13-2005 01:50:

hahaha. benjamin wants some more gigs

1. mangler V begic, Syrup Nightclub 2004.

reason: nothing could prepare me for what it would be like to hear DJs actually play music i loved. i was bouncing around for weeks afterwards. holy fvck, there ARE trance DJs in Oz, lol. still remains my #1 gig of all time.

2. pkc, most nights of the week.

reason: pretty ordinary DJ but fuck his choice in tunes is second to none

Gavin Keitel!

1)Sunny 7th Bday Old Skool night (Nov 2004)
One the the best nights i've had, the tracks that were played, the atmosphere and the vibe was amazing. His set was mind blowing!

2)Gavin's 4hr CD launch @ Sunny
AMAZING!

hahaha - benny boy..

anyway, to answer the question

any of Sean Quinns closing sets are magnificent, and just perfect for the timeslot.

so according to your topic, you're saying that Scott Bateman is your favourite DJ in Melbourne????

Posted by Light The Fuse on Oct-13-2005 02:09:

probably Luke Chables set after Lucien Foort on boxing day a few years ago...hes copped flak for not being the greatest dj in the werld in the past and that night he showed what he could do.

fav local - ahh theres too many

Posted by charlee on Oct-13-2005 02:17:

I would have to say Phil K's set @ Sunny Birthday last year blew me away

Melbourne has so many good producers...like Jono Fernandez

PKC/Soups - Fuck you two are lame.

Yes, because he plays a style that tinkers on my likings for a hard edged Tek sound. I have only heard him play this style a few times and every time it has had me jumping for joy, But not only do i love his music he taught me the fundamentals of mixing and helped me set up a nice record collection of my own. So yeah. My favorite by a long shot!

Posted by charlee on Oct-13-2005 02:27:

That set that Scotty played at Transcend sent me into a frenzy!!! The man knows what he is doing

Gavin Keitel is another fav....the way that man works the decks WOAH!!!

im suprised you retailiated on the forums like this.. If you found what i said offensive (i am still straining to understand why) i thought a simple pm, email or sms would've sufficed. I wasnt having a go, just clarifying if what you were saying was indeed true and that he was your favourite. Granted, he has been very helpful as I certainly have acknowledged both to him and when relevant on this forum too.

sorry if i pushed the wrong buttons ..

soups which closing set of quinnys sticks out in your head>?

Posted by Simon00 on Oct-13-2005 07:27:

Is thread for Melbourne people only?

Well i was born in melb so im going to go with Jason Midro. The man closes out every Future event with style and sends everyone home with a smile on their faces. Why else are events packed until stumps in melbourne? Jason Midro thats why.

Im sure at some stage he has remixed Axel the frog song which gets him a tick in the producer box also for the second criteria of the question.

Nice one Jason my man.

Keitel at maybe the May?? Sunny my legs were sooo farkin tired at 5am and I was just sitting there, worn out seriously couldnt move. I just couldnt stay quiet though, he forced me to dance with an absolute blinder of a set! True love for him after that!

Actually, the majority of the Sunny spinners force me to dance, so props to all of them!

I think I have very similar musical tastes to Mr Light The Fuse, so I always enjoy his sets.

Who else? Ive had a mental blank of all the sets Ive ever seen by locals!

Im getting too fussy with what I like I think, or my tastes have changed its generally either too uplifting if were talking trance, or too underground if were talking breaks. Meh, get some alcomohol into me and I cant tell the difference!
