what are your thoughts on this? not saying it's true..but what if?

theres about a one percent chance i would bother, especially given the amount of advertisements I would be forced to view during the games.

It's nothing compared to NFL-games, and still football is the national american sport...you have three commercial brakes every period, after aprox 5, 10 and 15 minutes. In the NFL games you have a commercial-break after every turn-around, AT LEAST, which gives you at least 10 commercial breaks each quarter...

Yeah, it sucks how much they sell advertisements in all profesional sports. If it's not deliberate advertisement during commercials, it's ads painted on the ice, logos on the uniform's or sports facts brought to you by any company with enough money to pony up to the group responsile for the broadcasting. It doesn't bother me enough not to watch, but I do think it's out of hand.

Not as many people would watch. I wouldn't even pay to see a porn movie on Pay Per View, so why spend money on a game?

Because hockey is better than porn...You can get all the porn you can take for free on the net. Stupid doesn't even begin to describe people who order porn on pay per view...Besides, you'll only enjoy porn for 10-20 minutes. It's not like you watch the whole movie because of it's amaz�ng plot...then you'd be even more stupid - or just amazingly borded.
Sure, if your team trails five to nothing after ten minutes you might turn off the TV, but usually sports have best value on PPV.
