Filterheadz - Cartagena/Santiago/Lima [Love Distortion]

First release on the brand new Filterheadz & Housetrap label, this release is MASSIVE MASSIVE MASSIVE
Mad props to the two of them for such a quality release.
Tbh, when I heard Cartagena my expectations wern't that high. This was rather standard Filterheadz stuff. Good for the Filterheadz fans, but didn't do much for me.
But then I heard Santiago and Lima and lord almighty, have they done a good job. Housetrap's influence is very prominent in both tracks.
An electro-trance-techy mashup with slight Sander Van Doorn influences that will blow the floor apart. Wow...I'm impressed.

Cartagena - 7/10 Listen here
Santigo - 8.5/10 Listen here
Lima - 9.5/10 Listen here

Can't post links to samples from either 4djsonly or astralmusic. You's will hafta go over there and listen to them.

Release date : 17 Oct

EDIT : Have added links to full-length samples of each track.

Meh, putting a not-so-bog-standard synth stab in an otrherwise plain normal techy track isn't that weird if you ask me. Not my type of stuff, but smoothly produced anyway. Probably going down well in the techy ends of a Tiesto / Marco V set.

I like Cartagena most.

interesting
I'm kind of strangely indifferent about any of them. They aren't neccesarily bad, but I don't really care for any of them. It just sounds like they are trying to cram too many sounds into one track. Too hyper...

Love santiago...the rest isn't that good

a while ago i heard some IDs from a Filterheadz set which later were identified as new filterheadz tunes. these were all cool tribal stuff of the same type as Sunshine. Are these tunes those?

Well I think all these tracks have clear Filterheadz elements in them. The bassline in cartagena sounds a lot like Yimanya...Lima is the track out of these who appealed to me most, but the other ones weren't bad either...

Yes, 100% sure

I really like Cartagena, but the B-side tracks really don't appeal to me.

Too bad Medellin isn't on here, imo it's much better than the B-sides.
