ID Contest 26

Back in business!

Thanks to the people in this thread, a few changes to the rules have taken effect, mostly regarding how points are awarded.

As always, there are 50 samples to identify. But this time, 3 points are awarded regardless of how much info that is present for each ID. Thus:

DJ Fire - Jetlag = 3 points
Dreamcatcher - I Don't Wanna Lose My Way (Magik Muzik Dub) = 3 points

However:

DJ Fire - ? = 1 point
Dreamcatcher - I Don't Wanna Lose My Way = 2 points

If the participant later submits the correct title for the former, that will grant him or her 3 points. The same principle applies for the latter if the participant submits the correct remix name.

Finally, in regards to the common mix names such as Club Mix, Radio Edit etc., I will regard them as requirements for a fully scored ID where they make a significant difference to the track, i.e. Push - The Legacy (Club Mix). Otherwise they will not be needed for a full score.

Final date for submissions will be 6th November 2005 at Midnight GMT+1. PM me your answers, or submit them on MSN or IRC if you happen to catch me there.

My best (and only) performance so far was about 14th, in contest 23, so I'll see how we do.

Ouch... that was impossible. I've done the ones I could get straight away, which gives me a mighty (drumroll, please) 6 points.

I'll just have to hope everyone else found it hard.

I have 5 IDed, maybe 6. Very difficult one...

im absolutely clueless on pretty much all of these, not a chance of me gettin more than about 15 points i dont think.

i've only got 5 points so far hahaha...that's THE_Chris quality

but i know about 6 of these tracks so i'll try and pin them down

Yes considering the courtesy was made to make a thread asking our opinion on the comp this is pretty different from what i expected from the feedback gained there.

The 10-odd simple ones... have been translated into '10 trance IDs'
the rest i wouldn't even think appear here in a trance ID contest LOL

Still - as in snooker.. everybody plays on the same table - so game on!!!!

This is a trance ID contest? As far as the feedback is concerned, I took some of the advice into account, as the new point system shows. Genrewise I already explained why I can't so easily implement changes.

Do you mean if there's no mix, like just artist and title (original mix), we get 3 points if we get both the artist and the title? But if it's not the original mix we only get two, like before? And before, we only got 2 points cuz there was only 2 things to know?

Jan Henrik, do you let us know when/where exactly we're wrong if we're wrong on something?

edit: Sub, I'll prolly get the lowest score because it's the first time I entered a TA id contest.

you get 3 points if you know the artist, the title and the right mix, regardless of whether it's the original mix or a remix.

before, you could get max 2 points for originals, and 3 for remixes, which was totally unfair.

Difficult! There won't be a repeat of my 65 points here.

Well, I think I have the 5 points. Just 60 to go...

chrissi sweetie, i promise u that u'll get at least 1 id one of our faves is in there, so you now have more points than ppl like the_chris
