Yo,
This is totally *Ambient electronic music*, made me remember some works from Pete Namlook, Brian Enno and William Orbit in the early 80's.
The selection of sounds are very retro .
Not my cup of tea, but is well done, good athmosphere, the only thing I would change are those bells, but that's my personal taste other than that is a good and well done vintahe ambient tune .
Kopi =o.

thanks for your reply kopi. its a compliment when you mention names like 'eno' he is one of my faves. i wasnt sure of the 'bell' style sound myself... its grown on me now but im still not sure.

thanks again

rich

With bells on it!!!!
They actually work but they make it a little soundtrackish.

Would work well with some hip hop beats too, not sure why, just the first thing I think of... probably the bells or the chord changes.
Now all you need is a big fat black guy with a lisp to put down a lyric then kill him afterwards in a drive by and you'll be minted...

No seriously, this is a really nice piece of work. Nice a crisp like it ought to be.
It's relaxing but has a feel of anticipation about it.

Cheers
Nem

thanks for your review nem the bells are more of a 'vintage e.p' keyboard sound and do give it an 80's soundtrack vibe- i have mixed feelings on the sound. i also agree with the hiphop beat idea!

im gonna give this to my mate who is gonna use the main part as a breakdown but build a massive techy number around it... should be interesting i think. thing is im not sure how long the break should be...

any more comments on my track guys?

Very beautiful piece of work there rich. A little too minimal for my tastes but it amazes how people can produce stuff like this and actually have it sound quite finished even though theres nothing much going on.. lol...

If its actually going to be played out and lead up to a set, you might want to fill it out with more pads or ambient sounds in the background. It might sound a bit dead if this comes on and there just the crowd noises in the background. Also, it doesnt really feel like its building up to much.

Otherwise, mastering sounds very clean and clear, quite warm and organic feeling actually. The sounds all sound full and thick. Nice stuff.

those are some nice words you put down about my track axolotyl. thanks mate

at the mo its so minimal and with very little build. now im listening to it more i can imagine a decent snare etc building into a massive beat...

hehe you got me, i like both 80s and chillout tracks!

i like the synth that starts at 1:40, kick ass!!

i'd decrease some resolution from the main synth and the bell (by my personal taste) they need a more darker feeling.

maybe you can add some ethnic instruments to fill it up a little...
keep it going

I agree with Nemesis, I was listening to the track and though "hmzz this would be rather nice with a good solid trip-hop beat underneath it". I enjoyed the listen. Also it would be a good track for a sort of M.I.K.E kind of trancy track if you would build a nice break and solid lead as well.

Nice job overall mate!

vrahnos: thanks for the feedback and kind words. the synth is quite melodic and ill agree that it is just right

nomen: as a matter of fact the track is undergoing a bit of a 'refit' im gonna use it as a break for a progressive dark tune im starting tonight!

glad you guys are enjoying this

hmm.. this is nt my style.. but if richard gale produces something I just have to listen ..

..very retro indeed .. I like the bells..
but I like distorted bells more give it a try sometime

the harmony in the track is really good too.. cant say anything more though..
nice job

thanks takkra!

im glad you keep an eye out for my stuff

i think i might add a bit of distorsion to the 'bell' sounding e.p synth.

by the way... i have posted my progressive version of this on a seperate thread... its a lot better than this version i think.

please check it and tell me what you think!
