Looks awesome but I can tell you right now my poor aging PC will not be able to handle this. I seriously need to upgrade...

Posted by England on Oct-18-2005 21:21:

looks pretty poor imho think i'll give it a miss

Posted by N|te-L|fe on Oct-18-2005 22:16:

baaah.......

3d shooters are getting waaayyy too redundant, nothing new except slightly better graphics..

they urge for something new

oh and Half-Life > Doom and quake.. always has and always will

If its half as bad as Doom III I will give it a miss

Posted by gurra on Oct-20-2005 16:40:

It doesnt look that good, and I've read that the campaign is finished rather quickly... and I can't play it on my computer anyway.

Posted by BTG on Oct-21-2005 05:12:

i like it. multiplayer is more or less the same as q3, but when rocket arena comes out, who cares?

Posted by stren on Oct-21-2005 06:58:

requirements ?

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Oct-21-2005 10:51:

yeah, the multiplayer seems a nice blend between 2 & 3. thats a good thing imo coz Q3 was the perfect unrealistic shooter. it doesnt look to add much more than doom from a complexity perspective, but tbh i find doom & quake's simplicities to be a great strength.

Posted by mistiso on Oct-24-2005 02:47:

I love it! I've always been a fan of id games and Quake 4 is no exception at all, even though it basically is Quake 2 with the Doom engine. Yes, the multiplayer definitely reminds me of Quake 3 Arena, but as some have stated, Q3A will probably go down as, over-all, one of the best FPS' ever.

I'll admit that story-line wise, I enjoyed Half Life 2 far more (in terms of depth) but Quake 4 is still on par. The graphics are amazing if you have a high-end PC to showcase the engine.

Overall, I give it 8/10. I'll probably wrap it up this week so I can get back to Age of Empires 3 and F.E.A.R

Posted by Blue. on Oct-24-2005 17:56:

Wow what a boring game, I can't believe I waited for this.

F.E.A.R. may be an easy game but it's leaps and bounds ahead of Quake 4

Posted by smcmulli on Oct-25-2005 23:06:

uhhhh yawn boooooooooRING.

Posted by zokissima on Oct-28-2005 13:54:

Haven't tried it, but gonna give it a go, but after F.E.A.R, I heard it was really amazing, especially the graphics.

+all my base

HL2 in my opinion is easily the best single player fps out there. rarely does a game cause me to form an emotional connection with the characters but hl2 does such a great fucking job... their facial expressions and everything!

and for multiplayer, my vote goes to battlefield 2.
great graphics + mmo + smooth gameplay = good multiplayer game

/fanboy rant (i rarely endorse something like that, though so... yeah)

Posted by Blue. on Oct-29-2005 22:48:

Best FPS as far as realism and depth go: FarCry
Best FPS as far as plot goes: Half Life 2
Best run and gun FPS goes: Quake

Posted by Sunsnail on Oct-30-2005 01:56:

Physics : hl2
Simplest yet fulfilling: doom3
