What TAs have shaped your taste in music?

I'd have to say that I've been heavily influenced by DA and our tastes are pretty much identical. I invite the other whores to share how they were influenced in this scene.

Corentin Emprou.

Posted by Floorfiller on Oct-16-2005 21:14:

i wouldn't say anyone really shaped it, but i'd say that i share a similar taste with people like...

Grimreaper
Aloep
Cobalt
UWM
Sandleaper
Paraniok0
JayD
AndiH

etc etc

and definitely seeing what they like leads me to great tunes i might not have known about otherwise...

but i do think my tastes have grown beyond what we have in common. we mostly share a similar tastes in older music i think...

Bobby has been a good source of knowledge and info on some stuff for me, Clovis has provided great tips on sets/producers/tracks, phreek has always turned me on to new tunes, elevation, KT, & Tyler Michaud for their ETN shows & productions, TylerC has kept me interested in Trance, and the biggest of all is no doubt Myra, after all, she's the kid who turned me into the prolectro whore that I am today...

Posted by basd on Oct-16-2005 21:21:

None, really.

I've yet to discover someone here that shares my taste in techno. As for prog, there are some here that are fond of the 2000-ish sound, as I am, but trying to compile a list would only lead to people being left out.

dont think anyone has really, just developed my taste since i have been listening to it. From listening to DJ sammy 3 years ago, to the quite hard techy stuff that i prefer to listen to now

Dark Angel has really gotten me alot more familiar with House music. He constanly bombards my email with new sets from Danny Howells, Erik Morillo, & Derrick Carter. Also DA has been ranting to me about the lack of soul in trance music & mentioning that PVD is dead in the water. I mentioned to him that Armin Van Buuren always has alot of energy in his live sets & DA repied with "TIMMEH!". DA has also increased my interest in Techno. From hard techno like Pet Duo, to banging techno like Chris Liberator & also to some Tech/House like Carl Cox.

Thanks for everything DA.

meh?

Posted by kr00t0n on Oct-16-2005 21:59:

No TA's have had any influence to be honest, I like what I like and have done so for many years now.

The closest thing would be when I find something I like myself, then ask for similar sounding stuff, then get slated for not using the search, then getting helped by normal people without issues

darksword has been a great influence in terms of composition, but as far as genre taste goes:

Sunsnail turned me ON! ...to happyhardcore

DA has shared a few sets with me that are hypnotiq

and Slylee is a huggable ho that i want to meet one day and dry hump for no reason in particular.

OH my bad

also javi

Posted by MeLLyMeL on Oct-17-2005 00:18:

MYSELF!

DA is cool and Falling Moon is my home girl! Her and I can talk about tunes ALL NIGHT LONG!

I think us 3 FLTA's have just about the same taste

Edit: Vivid Boy is in the process of changing my music style to Hip Hop

:-x

Nobody has particularly shaped the way my tastes in music have gone in any way at all, that's all been down to me. But two people who have opened my eyes to tracks that I may never have come across otherwise, and therefore certainly deserve a mention, are montana, and the person whose account im posting on now; Daz.
