Airbase - Genie (J. Waters Pulse Mix) 128 preview

I think you all know the original and some of you may say it's untouchable to remixing but I decided to give it a go. Y'know, I never back down from a challenge, my dad is bigger than your's blah blah. etc etc.

I kept it in the Epic trance genre because it's impossible to take it out and added a piano riff half-way through to try and mellow it out a wee bit. I didn't want to fill it with fx so i've kept it sweet an simple so any thought anyone could give me would be cushty...

Good effort, but it just doesnt do the original justice. Sounds like you've layered a couple of synths for the lead too. If so, they arnt stacking too well, or it could maybe be the fx underneath it causing this impression. But generally, it sounds too busy and chaotic.

Aesthetically, it also just sounds too much like an anthem and lacks the sincerity of the original. As a standalone track, I think its alright, but for a genie remix, it could do with more polish.
