yoo i no im switching from cds to vinyl just because lol. im tired of cds and think i wil have more fun on vinyl, i have like a 500$ limit. i found a gemini scratchmaster thing for 400 two gemini tt02's and some mixer lol i wanna no if gemini is a good maker of turntables wat would i be better off with because for 400 there is a pack of geminis stantons or numarks.. wat do u think i would be best off with?? help would be appreciated

Posted by SpecRadio on Oct-17-2005 00:41:

No.

Save up for Techs or Vestax...numarks are poo for beatmatching, and so are gemini's...and stantons are just out of the question crap.

What mixer do you have right now? Also, why not just get one turntable since you have cds already? instead of getting a gemini pack (worst by all means) get 1 sl-1200 mk5.

yea that what i ment...cdjs as a term for cd turntables , but yea I hear ya! Have you ever tried a cdj 800 though...i am assuming the cfx40 cannot simulate vinyl and therefore making mixing for beginner somewhat boring? Go to a guitar center and try a cdj 800 if you havent already...bring your favorite track . But the reason why I ment only one turntable because you can always mix between cd and vinyl, especially if that one turntable is a technics. then save up for another one as time goes on.

Ripped off? Take a look at the resale value of technics...thats one the biggest reasons for getting them also, great decks!

I bought this. I have learned a TON so far on this setup. I am almost ready to make the leap to Technics. But for now, I will continue practicing on this setup. The Numark's in this package are direct drives and they beatmatch just fine. The mixer is very basic, but you are a beginner, for now this should do you well.

I learned on those tt1625's.. They are alrite just to learn on. You will find you'll soon be after a higher quality deck pretty soon tho when your skills improve

Posted by idoru on Oct-18-2005 21:15:

I'd suggest getting up some patience and saving up for Techs. Most people are like, "Damn, you have an awesome setup!" when they could have the same thing. It's all about patience.

Hey, wat's wrong with the stanton's

I mix with them all the time....

i admit but, i've never used a high quality TTs or mixers like techs or vestax. But still.... the stanton's did the job for me.

My cheap setup totally does the job. I can beatmatch and everythin etc. etc.

isn't that all u really want in the end. I mean my friend's stantons (the ones i always use), are easily about a year old, and do cop a fair beating.
