Ethereal - Waffles (experimental)

Hey guys,

Haven't posted anything in a while, so i thought i might show you something i've been up to. I think i'm gonna completely change my style over and be a little more experimental. Here's a sample of the stuff i've been working really hard at the past couple weeks. It took me a long time to get all my sounds right.

Ethereal - Waffles

comments please, hope you like.

btw: this is a joke.

Hey,
Interesting stuff! The only thing I dotn like is the suprsaw, it has too much low freqs though and when appears all sounds a bit distorted imo.
haha for the vocal, this could be great for need for speed or sort of .
Original and funny, good work mate .
Kopi =o.

Hey, I like this.
Quirky and with a touch of humour.
Good overall finish too.

Thanks
Nem

I wouldnt classify this as 'experimental' as much as 'weird'. I'm diggin it tho. Really like the pwm synth you have, as much as it must have pained you to add it. I'd also like to take credit for that vocal

Nice work.

this is some wiered stuff and sounds experi-'mental'. its a wiered one cos im not sure wether i like it or hate it. everything works together but it gives the impression it doesnt at the same time. the female vocal is one of my favourite bits. its very haunting. also the break after the 'ha ha ha' sounds really nice.

im left feeling a bit confused in my mind after listening to this i have to admit.

nice work

Posted by tylerc on Oct-18-2005 02:45:

ok, i changed my mind.

i hate it.

Heya Ethereal

I love the female samples

I hate the sirens in some places. Though the spiraling chaos is wonderful.

I love the laugh.

The lower bass is nice & deep, but it fades on the higher notes. keep it low

nice high hats.

the bass drum could be deeper??

interesting stuff.

quite UN-musical

nice sounds in it though

Posted by EtherealSL on Oct-18-2005 17:48:

wow guys thanks for all the replies...

... but this isn't music! c'monnnn you TAs are far too nice to me. lol this was a joke track i came up with in about 2 minutes after altering one of my older files. i really thought the "hahaha" sample at the end of the track would give it away (or the song title, for that matter). shame on you TAs for not tearing this track to shreds!

haha anyways, i'm not changing my style, lol. Just to update you, I believe "inamorata" is getting signed soon (will update that thread when it does) and am working on some new projects: A "Chiba" remix from Orana Project( ) and also a collab between me and jon (static blue). also i remixed that hip hop song for the contest that all you TAs were starting a war over (if anybody's actually interested, i can post it, or give it to you via pm or something). Some other tunes and a possible dnb song are in the works as well.

anyways, i'm out.

ahaha this stuff is awesome !
I did a track like this too a while ago coincidentally.. I called it Donuts & Coffee
but hey man, im looking forward to more stuff like this

It's actually really good. Like, "I wish more people would make stuff like this," good. You should develop this the whole way through and see where it goes. Your assertion that it is not musical is a bit prejudiced, IMO.

The fact that we're not supposed to take it seriously is a good thing, though. This song is just fun. I could totally dance to this. And it's well produced to boot.

Besides, this is nothing compared to Orbital - Acid Pants.

thanks, but i couldn't produce stuff like this. I didn't even save the file. I'm not really into psy stuff or experimental. i'm sure i'd love it in the club. i was dying laughing as i was producing this. For now, i'm sticking to melodic.

i'm sorry, i guess i meant to say "this isn't the type of music you should expect me to do." heh, but it's all good.
