Favorite Days
Hi all, I was thinking today, what day is best fit to make music,is it better suited at night or during the afternoon ?
Do u like it when people are around giving there views on ur noise while you make ur noise or do u prefer nobody around ?
Ill go 1st my favorite days are Saturdays (Afternoon) Sundays (all day even during the night)
And yeah i do like people around not too much maybe 1 or 2 is enough.
Anyone want added something to this which day and time do u prefer making a noise.
Also list ur habbits if u want to.I know i turn up the bass to +18 db @ 80 Hz for no reason sometimes and my mother comes down with a heavy line like #RT$#%#$%$^ softer please, hahahaha

I get most of my inspiration not from behind the computer most of the time. Time of the day doesn't really matter mostly, though the evenings tend to speak more to me (less other things at hand perhaps).
My home family isn't much interested in what I am doing, so usually there's nobody around...

I'm always most productive at around 10-11pm to 4-5am on evenings before big mid term or final exams when I should be studying, or when I have a big research paper due the next day but haven't started yet.

| hah! good to know I'm not the only one |
I usually end up making music in the evening, and if i get a good idea, all through the night. Sometimes i just skip sleep, to make music.
Think im addicted?
my schedule is crazy ...
usually I work with no-one around ... I get that Void Feeling ... like Im out in the middle of no-where like that ... I feel empty ... silent ... then I usually build from there ... right there on the screen ... mom usually works from 2 - 10:00 ... so Im almost always in the mix ... and im always in the mix from around 12:00-1:00 till around 5 in the A.M ...
Always under headphones ...
def. mondays from 6-10 and saturdays from 10-6, sundays from 10-4
those are my only available production hours

. What helps sometimes is actually putting your pattern or melody on paper. Use your own method. I actually sometimes draw out (on regualr folder paper while at school in class not paying attention
) the sequencer/piano roll (yepp, i use FL Studio) bars and put fill in the blocks. once i get home and look at it, it helps me remember what i was thinking at the moment. One time i tried to do that for a pretty complex percussion beat with ideas that sprouted from who knows what. I got home, put everything thing in its place like how it was on paper...and then...i press played. sounded like crap. But from there, i changed some things around and fixed the not so good ideas i had earlier in the day when i wasn't on the comp into good ones when i can finally try them out. But, it's your call. Helps me remember some simple things. U should try it.

Try the shower. The bathroom is my inspiration for some odd reason. Just being in the bathroom I get ideas constantly. Other times if Im just listening to some tracks on speakers, I can think of some melodies that flow with the tune and just go from there. Just like most of you I work well from around 10pm-5am when I should be doing homework. Lately I havent had the urge to produce though. I started playing Ragnarok Online and well all I can say is I play that too often. Id like to get back into producing, but once I see that icon I decide hey lets see what level Im at. So yeah Im thinking Im going to uninstall so I can get back into the groove of things. Good luck everyone.

I've produced at all different times. Main thing is nobody being around. I don't like people to sit and watch or hear me work. Too much chance of "back seat driver syndrome" I guess. Sometimes you're working on an idea that sounds like crap at first, but you know where you're going with it... but to people hearing it they're like WTF?
I do prefer working in the evening though.
Late nights tend to be really fruitful for me. Also I agree on the fact of me doing stuff by myself and alone. A bathroom is definately a good place to get good ideas or being in bed for me. I can get some really nice ideas when I'm laying in my bed tryin to sleep. Taking a ciggertte break is also great!
Friday night.
Just sitting in my room making music with my headphones on. Nothing beats it
