Best UNDER-23 Soccer Player?

I dont know how old Owen is but I would say its Saviola (Barcelona and Argentina).

Posted by jlosada on Dec-27-2001 10:49:

Riquelme.

Posted by Abydos on Dec-27-2001 12:55:

I'll second that motion

Saviola no question

Posted by fastmp3 on Dec-27-2001 15:16:

Saviola is very nice

Posted by boy_luke_y2k on Dec-27-2001 19:40:

Cool

Saviola is good, but I think there is a lot of good english young talent, see how many young players are now playing in the premier.

Saviola, hhhhhmmm we'll just have to see when England play Argentina in 2002 WC **sits back in chair and daydreams of Owen outskilling and out-pacing the entire Argentine team** "aaaaahhhhhhh memories of World Cup 98"!!!! ......apart from Owen, best U23 is Steven Gerrard, I'd like to see Saviola TRY to get past this guy (no chance matey!) Of course I'm not biased to England or anything

i agree 100% on this

owen is the best under-23 player (no doubt on this), and behind him the 2nd place goes to his teammate on both club and national team, steven gerrard

greetZ!

hhhhmmmmmm, now how was it that Argentina won that match again........ah yes the hand of god, anyway they probably won't be able to afford plane tickets to Japan with their current finances

Well, well. The best U-23 player will be playing in the world cup group F next summer, that much is true, but he is neither from England nor Argentina. Sweden got the best U-23 player in Zlatan and he will prove it in Japan/Korea next year, promise.

Yes, Zlatan is great.. It would be interesting to hear what dutch people have got for an opinon about him. I read that he got booed by the ajax fans when they were 5-0 up(!) recently.. Somthing about the weight of wearing the Ajax no.9 shirt, which van basten, cruyff, kluivert has worn in the past..
Another very promising swedish player is Kim Kllstrm. Djuuuuuuurgrdeeeeeeeen!!!!

Read This!

They won by a goal that never crossed the line.

The best soccer player under 23 is Johan Elmander or Shinji Ono. The 2 are just to great.

Posted by jlosada on Dec-31-2001 19:39:

We are forgetting one of the best goalkeepers of the world: Iker Casillas from Real Madrid. He is 21.

You really think elmander is that great?? The year when he signed for Feyenord (probably misspelled) he was voted "most overrated player" of the swedish league, but he seem to be doing better nowadays..

i think its feyenoord
