cymbal crash in FL studio

This is probably so simple, but I can't seem to find out how to get a simple cymbal crash, maybe one that echos out a little. Or even like a swoosh, I guess that would be a cymbal crash in reverse. Thanks in advance!

I have this routine for crashes;

-Load a sample
-assign to channel 3 (channel 3 is always my highs for some reason)
-EQ out lows and mid-lows
-add 6% reverb
-compress
-duplicate sample
-reverse the dublicated sample to create a reversed crash
-assign reversed crash to channel 7 (don't ask, I'm weird like that when it comes to channels)
-EQ out lows, mid-lows, and top-highs
-add 10% reverb
-add delay effect
-lower pitch of reversed crash to fit a 4-beat pattern
-???
-profit!

Really, you've only just put one foot in the door. Imagine first starting out on Command + Conquer, you know the map is huge but you can't see more than a couple of meters into the distance. The more you explore in all directions (TIME+EFFORT=PROGRESS) the more gateways open, the more serious you will become, and thus, production will consume your soul for all eternity!!!!!!!...err, What was the question again?
