Pires Penalty

Has to be the funniest thing I have ever seen in my entire life. Innovation or arrogance, whatever, I cant remember the last time I laughed so hard at such a blunder.

would've been the best penalty ever... if it worked. now no one should try it no more, it has lost the effect of surprising the fans

laughing at a frenchman is always good. Laughing at a stupid frenchman is even better

Posted by fastmp3 on Oct-23-2005 19:43:

man, he didnt even ahd to shoot, just pass a goddamn ball

Posted by raveed on Oct-24-2005 05:29:

thats not funny just plain stupidity ... funny would have been city scoring after that ... wtf was pires thinking

Posted by zoric on Oct-24-2005 07:20:

It was a pretty weird game for Pires. He scored a goal on penalty and he also wasted that other penalty. He also missed the whole goal when it was wideopen

Posted by raveed on Oct-24-2005 07:50:

Lol these were the best newspaper articles about the penalty... they really tore into pires and henry

INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY: The back of their shirts read Henry and Pires. You could have been forgiven for imagining it was Laurel and Hardy as they conspired to produce a second- half penalty attempt which, had it succeeded, would have seen them eulogised for their inventive Gallic thinking... but instead must go down in football folklore as the worst penalty ever.

SUNDAY TIMES: The former French president Charles de Gaulle used to speak about the impossibility of governing a country that produced 246 different cheeses. Arsene Wenger will know how de Gaulle felt for, at Highbury, Wenger has to manage two exotic Gallic cheeses, Thierry Henry and Robert Pires, and forgive us for putting it like this, but they cheesed off a lot of people at the old stadium yesterday.

That's hilarious. What the heck was Pires thinking/

Posted by d-miurge on Oct-24-2005 14:43:
