bassline like armas or icone
hey..
just wondering how to get the bassline sound liek armas - angels and demons and various icone tracks... their bassline sounds like it has effects on it like reverb or a detune flanger but i cant put my finger on it. anyone know??
thanks
Justin
Icone hangs round here a fair bit, so i guess he can decide if he wants to devulge that or not
im sure its just a combination of effects but i havent figured it out yet.
I think they use one sub bass which carries the low frequnecies and one or two "upper" bassline(s) wich are chorused, delayed, got some stereo effect or all of them..
i think i know what you mean... just a guess here but if you have floops try using the pure square preset of ts404 with alot of compression and some reverb (before the compressor that is).. but ive never tried it or anything and i havent heard the track in months.
show up icone... tell us your secrets :P
j/k
using chorus on the bassline will give it that effect, but you have to be carefull about using it on the low end because it can cause phase cancelation and other problems that make the bass very unstable. Pretty much what the guy above said. Layering sound and putting the fx on the higher frequency sounds so it doesn't effect the actual bass of the sound is the way to go. Of course nothing is off limits just experiment with chorus, delays, and reverbs some. Using a stereo delay where left is set to maybe 2 steps and right to 3 steps gives it a wider and bouncy feel as well.
Icone sells his presents for fruity very reasonably priced. You also get an example in the form of a fruity file. You can see what effects are used. They are only like 5 euros each for a bank of presents.
He uses 3xOSC plugin with a layer of TS404! Try his presets... pretty damn good!
