The New Dance Music Revolution ...

It hasn't started yet

But my gues is ( and time will prove me right ) that it'll begin with Madonna's new album. Why do i say this ?? Because she has simply put it into one Sentence ( or two )

The first one

quote:
"I'm not in the mood for a ballad," says Madonna of her first album since 2003. "I can't be bothered - I wanna dance!"

The second one

quote:
"I just thought, I need a break, I need to dance, I need to lift myself up, I need just to have fun. And so the record really came as an antidote to all the seriousness of everything else."

It might seem like I have an enormous crush on her, but, as i've said in another thread, I think that she has done a enormous amount for dance music in General. Since dance music has become way too minimal oriented and too serious to even try to seduce wider more global audience, someone needed to bring back the "fun" and the "dance" part into dance music worldwide. SHE will do it !!

Interesting

Can't say I'm with you on that though...not much of a Madonna fan. I'd hope if there's a revolution in dance music it's from the DJs we discuss here on TA!

But what the hell do I know....right Krinker?

I hope she will, cause I couldn't says this about MAW's remixes of Erotica (doesnt make me wanna get up and risk some moves whatsoever)

the contreversy is already starting with this album.Apparantly some rabbis dont want it released cause she sings about some historical rabbi. You gotta love her ability to create a stir.

Posted by ninjahola on Oct-24-2005 04:50:

Ya i heard the same thing but supposedly its not about a rabbi, but her friend????

Most likely you know didly squat, but hey not everyone can know everything like me ...

On a more serious not.

What i really thought was interesting with that is that she openly says that she's tired of the Seriousness of music theses days, which is VERY true for dance music. In a period where minimal music, cold music is ruling, people can only get tired and can only want something more fun, more emotion oriented. In that fashion, she is true. Will it cause a revolution ?? Most likely, she's been way ahead of the trends in the dance music world, i don't see she would go wrong NOW.

Let's just hope that it's true...
That there's a revolution coming...

Nope !!

Don't tell me that Derrick Carter isn't fun ?? Yet he isn't cheesy
Don't tell me that Desyn Masiello isn't fun ?? Yet he isn't cheesy !

Cheesy doesn't mean fun, although i'll have to agree that most of the time fun means cheesy but hey, if it can bring back a smile to my face when i dance, i'll take cheesy any day of the week !

Listened to the whole album last night, my favorites are the 3 first in terms of dance music. The second one (Get together) will play in every club for sure.

enough of those musical techno homo theories.

and for the "seriousness" of music...music ain't serious its only music it serves nothing, it got no reason to exist.

hehe scandalous as usual. tu me connais.

anyways back to madonna... her new song is good and up beat, really housey! i have to say i like it and i'm not a big fan of her music

Posted by KrinKer on Nov-15-2005 19:59:

Future lover est probablement la plus "edm" orienter sur l'album. La premire fois que j'ai couter cette toune la j'Pensais que underworld ( tout le groupe ) tait derrire cette toune la !

It's already a good sign for our scene that in most places in the world her new single is topping the charts ( which hadn't happen since American Pie and Music. The new bandwagon has started, House is back baby !! Now if we could only get some good album, some New Daft punk ( i mean artists that would do as much for house as daft punk did ! )
